According to the Allure version of the Farmer’s Almanac, autumn begins on September 1. We've already broken out the fall decor, queued up horror movies, and started planning Halloween festivities. We’ve waited all summer for this.

And this spooky season, expect a fresh crop of unique Halloween costumes. You’ll see plenty of pop stars to fit every personality, celebrity couple, and plenty of film- and TV-inspired ways to play dress-up. And if you don't think you're going to see at least one Labubu, you're delulu.

Don’t have time to do it up? We hear you and, of course, you have options, too. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with just popping on some cat ears or wearing an apron and calling it a chef's costume. Ahead, you’ll find the best Halloween costume ideas and beauty products you can use to pull everything together.

Was there any bigger pop culture moment more destined to be a Halloween costume this year than Labubus? Children and adults alike became absolutely obsessed with the furry figures and their cute yet sinister smiles, dangling the darlings from their bags, collecting them on dedicated shelves, and even dressing them up in customized clothing. To capture the Labubu look, you can wear a fleecy, hooded onesie with ears like this one we found on Amazon (and repurpose it as cozy pajamas once Halloween is over). There’s no shortage of Labubu makeup inspiration on social media—some scarier than others—but we like this one by content creator Briana. The good news: If it doesn’t turn out as well as you’d like, you can just tell people you’re a Lafufu!

Meg Stalter

Meg Stalter spent the summer serving unforgettable looks while promoting her series, Too Much, but her most memorable ensemble has to be the outfit she wore to the Las Culturistas Culture Awards. Do as Stalter did by fashioning a strapless top out of a Diet Coke case. Pair it with a pinstriped miniskirt and top it off with studious glasses. If you’re not a natural blonde, a long wig with elegant pin curls is a must. And don’t forget to carry (and enjoy) a can of Diet Coke.

Jaclyn, Laurie, and Kate from White Lotus

Ideal for a trio of friends who live in warmer climates (Floridians and Californians, we’re looking at you!), this super-simple group costume will be instantly recognizable to White Lotus fans—especially if two of you sport what’s affectionately known as “cunty little bobs.” Just grab any combination of colorfully tropical matching sets that look perfect for poolside parties, really lean into your interpersonal tension, and voila!

Blue Origin’s All-Female Space Crew

As deserving as some of the criticism might have been for Blue Origin’s star-studded, women-only mission, you have to admit their uniforms make for a pretty out-of-this-world group Halloween costume. A royal blue, zip-front, bodycon jumpsuit is the foundation of this look, and crew member Lauren Sanchez Bezos would probably recommend this one on Amazon. Get crafty by painting or patching on details like name tags and logos, and top it off with a black fabric belt and a gravity-defying blowout.

Sabrina Carpenter

What do you call more than one Sabrina? A pack? A peck? A bushel? Whatever the correct term, we expect to see a lot of Sabrina Carpenters out on Halloween—and for good reason. It’s like a classic Brigitte Bardot costume, but with higher hemlines, swoopier curtain bangs, and maybe even a bedazzled microphone. If you want to be pitch-perfect, you’ll need her go-to lipstick, Prada Monochrome Soft Matte Lipstick in Tonka.

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift

Admit it: You bought a Kansas City Chiefs jersey (and maybe even watched an entire football game for the first time) when Taylor Swift first started dating Travis Kelce. If you’re looking for a couple’s costume, you can wear your jersey and tell everyone you bought it for Halloween. Seriously, no other reason, that would be silly! You’ll need a cat eye, red lipstick, an engagement ring, and a partner who would only need a matching T-shirt and hat (a very minimal effort for those who are less than enthusiastic about the party you’re dragging them to).

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo Wicked Press Tour

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo gifted us with Glinda and Elphaba-coded looks for every appearance in anticipation of Wicked. And with the sequel, Wicked: For Good, hitting theaters in November, Halloween is the perfect time to grab a friend and color coordinate a pink and green BFF duet—er, costume.

Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet's Hard Launch

No one saw this couple coming. Even after they started dating in 2023, there were plenty of doubters. But now that they've been very visible, we can’t get enough of how cute they are together. The easiest route to making this couple’s costume immediately register in people’s brains is by decking yourselves out in Knicks gear, like the ’fits Jenner and Chalamet wore to the Eastern Conference finals. Superlong, dark hair is an essential detail for the Kylie in your couple, whether it’s your own or a wig. And for the Timmy, wraparound sunglasses and messed-up hair are musts.

Cowboy Carter

Parkwood Entertainment LLC./Blair Caldwell

If your Halloween plans involve a real-life boogie and a real-life hoedown (and even if they don’t), Cowboy Carter Beyoncé should be there. You’ll need thigh-high boots, a white cowboy hat, and the longest platinum wig you can find. Unfortunately, the horse will need to be hitched at the door.
