Amazon has officially added 18 more sign language interpretation versions of hit movies to Prime Video, which will improve the streaming experience of subscribers with hearing impairments. The streamer now offers American Sign Language (ASL) and British Sign Language (BSL) on 18 of its original movies.

According to the press release, this new feature “will provide a more accessible and comfortable streaming experience for all customers,” as the company continues “to explore ways to provide equal communication access for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals.”

What are the Prime Video movies that now have ASL and BSL versions?

To find the titles with signed translations, subscribers can just search using terms like “ASL,” “BSL,” and “Sign Language” on Prime Video. Another option for subscribers in the United States is to scroll through the “Accessible Movies and TV” featured collection on the app.

The Sign Language interpretation feature is available in both ASL and BSL across a growing number of Prime Original movies and can be viewed globally across all devices that support the Prime Video experience. At the moment, there are already 18 original Prime Video movies with this feature. The interpretations were done in partnership with Deaf interpreters and DASLs (Director of artistic sign language).

Listed below are the 18 movies that now support ASL and BSL translations:

  • Oh. What. Fun.
  • Merv
  • After the Hunt
  • Play Dirty
  • Red One
  • Candy Cane Lane
  • Trap House
  • Red, White & Royal Blue
  • Road House
  • Heads of State
  • Holland
  • You’re Cordially Invited
  • Killer Heat
  • Jackpot!
  • The Idea of You
  • Hedda
  • Another Simple Favor
  • G20

In addition to this new feature, Prime Video also has the largest catalog of titles with audio description, which helps describe films for visually impaired people. The streaming platform also provides Dialogue Boost, which is an AI-based approach that enhances hard-to-hear dialogue. The feature was initially launched in English, but now supports an additional 6 languages, including French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, and Hindi.
