50 + Insights from Reiki Masters Around the World

#1 Self-Discovery Begins with “Just for Today” 💡

By Akleema Ali, https://thereikilighthousett.com

The Reiki Precepts “Just for today” offer us a framework for living with intention and mindfulness. They encourage us to release anger and worry, cultivate gratitude, act with honesty, and practice kindness. These simple, yet powerful principles serve as reminders to dedicate ourselves not only to the practice of Reiki but also to the journey of self-discovery.

#2 Your Healing Hands Know the Way 💡

By Jane Van De Velde, https://thereikishareproject.org

The greatest power and beauty of Reiki is its pure simplicity. Hands on. Hands off. I emphasize and encourage daily Reiki for self-care. I teach my students to place their hands where they are experiencing pain or discomfort in their physical body. If they need to relax and release anxiety or stress, place hands on their heart center or give themselves a gentle hug. We can connect to Reiki anytime, anywhere, for any amount of time. A few moments of Reiki can bring us to that place of feeling calm and peaceful no matter what chaos is swirling around us. Keep it simple. to show more details.

#3 Start with You, Every Day 💡

By Helene Williams, https://www.helenewilliamsreiki.com

While a Reiki attunement connects us to our innate healing abilities, it is the daily practice that quiets the mind and deepens our awareness of our interconnectedness with all beings. Time and again, we are reminded that caring for ourselves first allows us to hold space for healing, kindness, and compassion for others. By offering ourselves the gift of hands-on healing each day, we learn to embrace self-compassion through gentle touch, nurturing every aspect of our body, mind, and spirit.

#4 Reiki Principles Are Your Everyday Compass 💡

By Mamta Nanda, http://www.reikiwithmamta.com

To me, Reiki Principles seem like a bridge between every two self-treatments. I can’t go through life with my Reiki hands on myself. It is the Principles that help me navigate life with more ease and grace during all those times when I am not self-treating.

In Japanese culture, reflective questions are deeply valued. I heard a Zen Master say – get the question right and answers will start to come. So the question underlying the Reiki Principles for me is <<How to be in the moments when I experience worry, anger, etc. so that my ki is nourished, not depleted?>>

#5 Begin Each Day with a Moment of Inner Connection 🌀

By Deborah Dalziel, https://linktr.ee/deborah.dalziel

Our days can have so much task driven, goal achieving and input data receiving that we are not fully able to reflect and connect to the real wisdom that lies within our body. It’s so easy to be caught up and distracted. Each morning I start the day with this little practice to awaken the wisdom within and feel connected to my whole being.

#6 Compassion Is the Heart of Reiki 💡

By Christine Radice, https://www.bostonreiki.com

The most important thing we learn in Reiki training is practicing compassion and kindness to everyone, including ourselves. If you forget everything else you learned in Reiki training, but remember and practice compassion to the best of your ability, you are truly embodying Reiki.

#7 Let Reiki Be Your Daily Anchor 💡

By Ranjini Rao, https://ranjinirao.com

I have been practicing the attitude of gratitude on a regular basis and Reiki was a transformative tool for me to open up wonderful and beautiful pathways. I am reminded to love myself and respect others. I am regularly integrating gratitude, kindness, and mindfulness into daily life. Thanks to Reiki for being the beacon of light in our lives.

#8 The More You Practice, the More You Trust 💡

By Angela Abbott, https://www.holisticallybalanced.co.uk

I think one of my greatest lessons and gifts from my experience with Reiki is learning to trust. It was not something that came easily to me and it took time, practice and courage. At the beginning I had to learn to trust that ‘I was doing it right’ when connecting with Reiki and giving Reiki to myself and others. I had to trust that what I was sensing/feeling was ok and right.

#9 Follow the Path That Feels True to You 💡

By Elaine Hamilton Grundy, https://www.reiki-centre.com

As a beginner Reiki practitioner it can be useful to listen to teachers and follow the guidance – hand positions, timings, tools and experience of those who have gone before you. But as you progress, it is important to test and challenge everything. What works for you? What serves you? Be willing to listen to your own practice and make this a priority over what others say, no matter how “expert”. Be true to yourself first and foremost and be willing to test out techniques and let go of old methodologies that you have outgrown. In this way you honour your unique journey and the homecoming that Reiki wants to show you.

#10 Honor the Pace and Shape of Your Practice 💡

By Christian Stone, https://standingstoneshealing.com

Your Reiki journey is your own. It is completely unique and unlike anyone else’s. It unfolds in just the way it is meant to in the time it is meant to. I encourage each of us to honor our own unique Reiki journey without comparing it to anyone else’s. Reiki encourages us to release judgment…of ourselves, others, and even of our own Reiki journey. Reiki isn’t judging our Reiki journey, so I encourage us not to judge our own or anyone else’s.

As practitioners, it’s common for us to compare ourselves to other practitioners and to judge our own Reiki journey based on other practitioners’ experiences. For instance, we might not feel anything while sending Reiki and think there must be something “wrong” with us because others feel something. We might not receive messages and others do, and so we might wonder how to “fix” it. We might have found Reiki later in life while others have started so much younger, and we feel like we’ve lost time. In all of these comparisons, we might not feel “good enough” as a practitioner. But your Reiki journey is your own.

#11 It Takes Courage to Heal… Keep Going! 💡

By Deborah Lynn Strafuss, https://crystalreikienergy.com

It takes courage and commitment to continue a journey of spiritual growth, to answer the inner call to free yourself from your own shackles and be unconcerned with society’s conventionalities. It takes inner strength, strong spiritual connection, the ability to recognize and work with wisdom teachings and to receive the mind and spirit expanding revelations that fuel spiritual growth. This is the work of Reiki practice.

#12 Return to Presence, Return to Self 💡

By Ifetayo White, https://www.ifetayowhite.co

I would love to share how grateful I am for my personal Reiki practice which has and does give me the foundation to show up “in Presence”. As a person of color in the U.S. experiencing the subtle and overt energies of division has magnified. To remain in or return to my True Self…love, peace, gratitude, joy, compassion, selfless service to all beings…. I must stay devoted to my daily Reiki practices of meditation, reciting the Precepts sometimes in every moment, and sharing hands-on Reiki with myself or others.

#13 Don’t Hold Your Breath — Hold Space 💡

By Lisa Campion, https://lisacampion.com

My biggest tip and technique is to remember to breathe while you are doing Reiki. Energy flows with your breath and so if you are holding your breath, you are not moving as much energy as you could be. Try slow, deep, belly breathing and relax as much as you can. Breathe like you do in yoga class, where you release your diaphragm and soften your belly. Keep your shoulders, hips and jaw loose. And see if you can learn to do Reiki with your eyes open, especially if you are working in person. With your eyes open you stay more present, more grounded and available to observe whatever is happening with your client. You will miss so many signs of energetic release if you close your eyes!

#14 Stay Present! That’s Where Healing Happens 🌀

By Kathie Lipinski, https://www.kathielipinski.com

Integrating the Five Reiki Precepts into your daily life is a powerful tool for self-reflection, present-mentioned living, growing self-awareness and self-compassion, as well as caring for all aspects of your being. The Precepts ask that we be mindful and fully present in the here and now. When we stay in the present, we keep our energy and spirit with us instead of sending them out into the future with worries or concerns, or back to the past with resentment, blame or guilt. When focused on the present, we are more aware of our blessings in the here and now.

#15 Beyond Intention Lies Trust 💡

By Ashwita Goel, https://ashwita.com

I know many people like working with affirmations and intentions, and that is how I started out too. Everything has its place. Over time I have realised however, that remembering that the ‘universal’ energy knows better than a tiny limited mind allows us to transcend human abilities and bring about miraculous results when we simply trust that the energy is wiser than us and knows exactly what to do. I often say that when we ask, we get what we want, but when we don’t, we get everything.

#16 Keep Practicing… Reiki Is the Real Teacher 💡

By Nicholas Pearson, https://www.theluminouspearl.com

As Reiki Masters, one of our tasks is to continually engage with the practice with Reiki, not merely as teachers, but as practitioners and learners. Reiki can be described as an embodied practice—one that we learn and teach experientially. It invites us to be more present in every moment, and when we do so we can learn directly from the intelligence and inspiration of the Reiki energy. Hawayo Takata famously recited the refrain <<let Reiki teach you>> to her students, reminding them that practicing Reiki was the best way to learn. Every self-treatment, client session, remote healing, attunement, or other experience is an opportunity to learn from Reiki.

#17 Where Focus Goes, Energy Flows 🌀

By Phillip Hawkins

Energy and vibration is the language of the universe and good health and illness begin at an energy level and must find expression as a physical symptom or condition. Once you realise this you begin to think in terms of attention and intention. What you focus on, its value, as in what it means to you, and what you choose to do about it, the three steps of creation on an energy level.

#18 Feel the Energy Flow Through You 🌀

By Rev. Teri Ann Heiman, https://terriannheiman.com

Recently, I’ve introduced an additional protocol in my classes aimed at helping the world. Stand outside with your feet grounded. Rub your hands together and position them facing downwards to send Reiki to Mother Earth. Call upon Reiki to flow through you and out of your hands. If you are Reiki Level 2 attuned, consider incorporating the HZSSN followed by the SHK symbol to remove any less-than-light energy, followed by the CKR for protection and empowerment. This practice supports Mother Earth and benefits all beings who dwell upon her. It also allows the student to notice the flow of Universal Lifeforce Energy from/through them to Mother Earth and back.

#19 Clear Old Energy Through Reiki Grounding 🌀

By Parita Shah, https://www.paritashahhealing.com

I find that sharing Reiki with our feet is a powerful practice for grounding. At the end of the day, or anytime you feel called to it, place your hands on the soles of your feet. Hold the intention of coming fully back to your body, while releasing any energies that aren’t yours. Allow yourself to release cords of attachment to people, and situations that aren’t in your highest calling. Bring your mind back to the present moment and sit with the sensations in your hands. You may feel warmth, coolness, tingling, or an emotion surfacing. Stay here for 5-15 minutes and allow your lifeforce to balance naturally.

#20 Let the Earth Help You Heal 🌀

By Rosemary Levesque, https://secondnaturehealing.com

We’re not meant to carry the burden of metals and poisons pervading our environment. Our Earth Mother has mechanisms and elements in place to detoxify herself in order for her children to inhabit her domain. When we follow her lead, we’re also cleansed. When we partake in her rituals, we enhance the goodness of all she offers. My daily cleansing drops since 2006 have saved me from the accumulation of lead in my bones, mercury and aluminum in my brain, and pain in my life.

#21 Grounding Opens the Door to the Divine 💡

By Sue Wang, https://www.connect2self.com

Grounding and protection daily are key for being in the flow and creativity. I envision a column of light going from the base of my spine to the center of the Earth, feel the connection. Then, asking AA Michael or violet light to surround me, to only let in energy that serves my highest good to come through. Deep breaths to feel the light around me, and going from the heavens, through my crown to the earth via the spine. From there, asking guides’ assistance and Reiki to clear my 7 chakras.

This is very calming and can be used when stressed or worried (like walking alone on a deserted path). I’m grateful for Reiki and my guides. The grounding quiets me down and gifts space to connect to the Divine. From there, prayers, mediations, insights are all possible.

#22 Get Creative, One Hand Position at a Time 💡

By Michelle Remeny, https://www.sourcereiki.com

Throughout my years studying Reiki, I learned only one way of holding my hands during a treatment: gently cupped palms with relaxed fingers, gently curved, as if you’re paddling through water. Once I completed master level Reiki, I decided that I should experiment with techniques as I felt called to.

The technique I’m sharing here was inspired by my desire to channel the healing energy even more directly, powerfully, and surgically, if you will. By holding my fingers in a pinched way and applying them in this formation to the area in need of deeper level healing, I’ve experienced a remarkable difference.

#23 Tone Your Way Into Balance 🌀

By Jasmin Harsono, https://emeraldandtiger.com

One of my favourite Reiki techniques for self-care and healing is Reiki Toning, which combines Reiki with vocal sound vibrations. Using the voice as a healing tool deepens the Reiki experience, enhances energy flow, and encourages deep self-connection. This practice works with the three tanden points, or as I like to call them, the Three Diamonds—Earth (Hara/belly), Heart, and Heaven (Third Eye). By placing one hand on the belly and the other on the heart while sounding, we naturally connect and balance these key energy centres.

#24 Let Reiki Carry Words of Healing 💡

By Corie Chu, https://coriechu.com

I often like to add direct affirmations to a client’s Reiki session whilst channeling Reiki to them. During a Reiki session, after identifying specific areas where there is more blockage, I like to listen to their body more deeply and its needs (like we’re having a conversation of our own) and send personally tailored affirmations there. For example, if a client has been stressed and extremely anxious, I like to send Reiki to the chest along with affirmations such as: <<Challenges are temporary. These moments are temporary. If the Universe is challenging me, then it knows I have the capability to handle this. I trust the Universe. I trust myself. I am good enough.>>

#25 Offer Reiki to the Parts That Need Love Most 🌀

By Sonja Bollnow, https://www.sonjabollnow.com

Reiki is unconditional love, therefore offering it is an act of love. While it’s easy to channel that love to others, I often forget to gift it to myself. Even though I receive Reiki as I share it, there’s something special about wholeheartedly giving myself love, especially when I’m in the grip of self-judgment or fear. In those moments, I pause, cup my palms around my “Inner Critic” or “Anxious One,” and offer Reiki to those parts of me. The effect is amazing: I soften, my heart opens, and that inner turmoil quiets down, restoring love throughout my “Inner Village”. Then I can once again be of service to myself, others, and humanity—powered solely by Reiki Love. An added benefit of this technique? It goes unnoticed by others, so I can do it truly whenever and wherever.

#26 In Reiki Stillness, Your Body Speaks 🌀

By Eileen Wiesmann, https://www.shingon-reiki.com/veranstaltungen

Through hands-on healing, Reiki also supports the awakening of Yin energy on a physical level. You can place your hands on your lower abdomen, creating a loving connection with your body. Often, we expect our bodies to function without truly feeling them amidst the busyness of daily life. Sometimes, our bodies resist this neglect, signaling a need for rest and attention.

With Reiki, you have the opportunity to reconnect with your body, especially your belly area and intuition, at any time. You can use these Reiki pauses to turn inward and check in with your emotions and needs.

#27 Cultivate a Radiant Mind 🌀

By João Magalhães, https://www.joaomagalhaes.com

One of the most extraordinary techniques that Master Usui taught, and so necessary for our days, is Nentatsu Ho, the technique for achieving positive thinking.

This Positive Thinking technique can help us anchor these five principles [Gokai]. We place our left hand on our forehead and our right hand on the back of our neck. We visualize the situation we want to overcome, but this time with a positive attitude towards it. If we encounter a difficult person, we visualize our positive attitude towards them. It’s like a film that continually repeats itself, which will help the mind to anchor this action and bring it as an alternative if we are conscious.

#28 Unite Within to Heal Beyond 🌀

By Elise Brenner, https://www.brennerreikihealing.org

Practicing Joshin kokyu ho regularly is about re-claiming sovereignty over our own attention, over our own minds. We ease into the slow lane where the mind gathers together with the body through the breath, into a settled, unified whole.

At this time of polarization and fragmentation in the world, our settled, unified mind-body can touch worlds by expressing care, concern, tenderness, connection, and, if so moved, taking compassionate action. We are fortified to stand up for what matters, speaking truth with nourishing words so we all may collectively thrive.

#29 Still the Mind, Heal the Body 🌀

By Bruce Taylor, https://www.rootsoflife.org

Reiki is not about seeking an outcome but about surrendering to the present moment and cultivating a state of stillness within the mind. Integrating these practices should lead to a mind and body that are increasingly more calm, still, and at peace. In such a state, there is no need for healing—because there is no sickness. Illness, both physical and emotional, arises from attachment and disturbance of the mind. When the mind is at ease, the body follows, and suffering dissipates.

#30 Read Slowly — There’s Wisdom Between the Lines 🌀

By Bronwen Logan, https://reikiwithbronwen.com

Our minds are naturally active and analytical, and contemplating spiritual poetry can be the medicine they need. Remember, the first step of any meditation practice is to learn to focus, allowing the mind to quieten and expand. The paradoxes or juxtapositions inside these short poems, not unlike Zen koans, cannot be resolved through logical thinking alone. They create openings for intuitive understanding as we learn about ourselves and our practice through their spiritual nature.

The significance of waka in Reiki practice became more apparent when I examined the 1933 writings of Tomita Kaiji, a direct student of Usui. Tomita describes a form of Reiki meditation practice, hatsurei hō, that beautifully engages the three “diamonds” of our being, bringing about a state of wholeness.

#31 Let Your Words Invite the Healing In 🌀

By Wanda Buckner, https://chooseenergytherapy.com

<<Allow yourself to totally, completely, and permanently accept this healing. May all things that support you be strengthened, and all things that do not, fade away.>> Because I use these words every time, their repetition becomes an anchor, allowing clients to relax more easily in future sessions. The initial breathwork—breathing in calm and exhaling tension—also serves as a tool clients can use to invoke the relaxation of Reiki in their daily lives.

#32 Your Mind Is as Vast as the Universe — Breathe Into It 🌀

By Frans Stiene, https://www.IHReiki.com

Why do we need to expand our mind out into infinity? Because we need to realize that our mind is pure like the universe. The universe is infinite; there is no beginning or end. Thus through the daily practice of jōshin kokyū hō we start to slowly realize the principle that our mind is infinite like the universe. The universe doesn’t stop at one point; it is infinitely open and expanded.

#33 Activate the Heart, Channel the Light 💡

By Ahtayaa Leigh, https://academyofenergyhealing.com

For me, connecting to Source energy through the heart chakra is at the core of my practice. At the heart chakra’s center lies the Inner Central Sun—a focal point of our energy field and the gateway to infinite energy and potential. This connection to Source energy is essential not only for my work but for all healers. I encourage every practitioner to consciously align with Source through the heart center.

Interestingly, there is a profound link between the heart and the hands. Before each session, I recommend that Reiki Masters activate their heart center. Visualize, sense, or feel this energy flowing from the heart into the hands, allowing it to guide and empower the healing process.

#34 Embrace the Cosmic Flow 🧘

by Shailja Kapur, https://showershealing.com

As you walk this path of self-healing, remember: Reiki is a sacred gift, an eternal embrace of divine energy that nurtures your being. By dedicating a few moments each day to this practice, you awaken the wisdom of the five elements within, aligning yourself with cosmic harmony. Step into the sacred flow of Reiki and let the universe unfold its magic within you.

#35 Call on Light When the Path Gets Unclear 🧘

By Dr. Neelam Rai, https://www.drneelamrai.com

Reiki has been my guiding light through life’s biggest transformations—none more profound than the emergency birth of my miracle child 11 years ago. At that moment, I felt the presence of angelic energies, holding me in divine protection as I defied all medical odds. That experience became a gateway to understanding healing at a spiritual and cellular level.

One of my most powerful techniques blends Angelic Reiki with EFT (Tapping)—bridging spiritual healing with scientific understanding of stress relief and emotional rewiring.

#36 Open the Gateway to Divine Insight 🌀

By Kathleen L. Johnson, https://universoulheart.net

After many years of practicing Reiki, my client sessions have evolved to the point where they are primarily guided and directed by Spirit, with Reiki as the essential “vehicle” in the healing synergy. This guidance sometimes comes in the form of new and unfamiliar techniques, which always prove to be extremely effective.

One of these techniques features a lesser-known chakra, the Alta Major, which is located on the physical body at the soft indentation behind the head at the base of the skull. In the metaphysical community, this area is commonly referred to as “The Mouth of God” because it is believed to be one of the main areas on the body through which divine messages are received.

#37 Feel the Love of Spirit Through Reiki Touch 🌱

By Deborah K. Lloyd, Author of 22 Messages book

Another time, I saw (third-eye seeing) a group of angels come in and join me around the massage table. They put their hands on the client’s body, in Reiki hand positions. One angel actually put her hands over mine – what a loving, healing energetic boost! As time went on, Reiki has made me aware of how angels and other spirits are always with us. We just need to connect with them – and Reiki is a gift, a way to make a strong connection.

Expect the unexpected – Reiki is an amazing connection to the spiritual realm. For my first sessions after becoming a Reiki Master, I gave sessions to family and friends. When I started to offer sessions professionally, the Spirit World – intuition and visits began. One of the first times was when a middle-aged man requested Reiki for tight muscles on his upper back. His heart chakra’s energies felt heavy; I received the message it was related to grief. During our discussion after the session, he shared his wife had died about six months previously. We just need to connect with them – and Reiki is a gift, a way, to make a strong connection.

#38 Intuition Flows Freely When You Step Aside 💡

By Tina Zion, https://tinazion.com

Do not interpret what you receive. It is the interpretation of information that gets us into trouble. If you are receiving intuitive information about yourself, then by all means interpret it. But if you are working with another person, refrain from interpreting or trying to explain the insights that you are receiving. When you try to interpret intuitive information for another, you are actually interjecting your own personal experience into theirs. Interpretations come from your thinking mind as it tries to make sense of an image, a word, a phrase, or a symbol for another person. Allow the receiver to tell you what it means to them. They will surprise you and tell you that they know exactly what it means and how it relates to their struggles.

#39 Place Your Hands and Let Reiki Lead 💡

By Deb Karpek

A transformative experience that shaped your Reiki path… Meeting my Reiki Teacher, Laurelle Gaia. I was already a Reiki Master when I met her and she inspired me to be ME. I was so intimidated when I first started practicing, and especially teaching, and felt like I had to be this perfect Reiki person, who knew everything! I learned to bring myself into my practice and it made me a better practitioner and teacher. Some of the best advice I got from Laurelle about practicing Reiki was <<put your hands on the person and get out of the way>>. So simple. I especially liked telling my Level One students this, as they were so worried they’d do it wrong. You can’t. Don’t practice from your head. Trust Reiki. It knows what to do and where to go.

#40 Wrap Yourself in Reiki Light 🌀

By Tracie Eaves Talbott, https://www.crystalreikiwellness.com

I draw the power symbol mentally in front of me and then imagine it stretching around me (or someone else) like a bubble. Then I channel Reiki into the bubble and add any other symbols that I feel called to use. As an empath, I find the Cho Ku Rei bubble to be particularly useful for energetic protection, especially with the current political climate and the energy it has stirred. I have been using it before leaving the house for the last few months and it’s become second nature, like putting on a coat before going out.

#41 Shed Your Cloak of Invisibility 💡

By Mary Riposo, https://www.InfiniteLightCenter.com

Practicing the system of Reiki helped me shed my invisibility cloak. That’s when I discovered that I could step into my role as a Reiki practitioner on my own terms—gently, with boundaries, and in a way that honored my sensitivity. And in doing so, I was able to help others heal, just as I was healing myself.
If you’re struggling with this, know that you don’t have to change who you are to step into the light. You simply have to trust that your presence, just as it is, is enough. The people who need your healing are looking for you. Let them find you.

#42 The Only Way Out is Through 🌀

By Kathie Lipinski, https://kathielipinski.com

When challenging situations arise, you may often find that you have to be the strong one, even an anchor in a crisis, and maintain a composed, professional presence. No one can sift through their own emotions in that kind of situation. Instead, you hold them in—put them aside or compartmentalize them—so that you can get through the crisis and help everyone else do so as well. The following exercise is helpful in releasing those experiences and addressing and honoring your emotions.

#43 Healing Gets Powerful When It Gets Personal 🌀

By Jeff Baird, https://www.sunrisereikicolorado.com

The Reiki Comforter is wrapped around the recipient with 7 light layers representing the 7 symbols I work with. They are wrapped in comfort and pain free. I usually do this towards the end of a session.

<<My Saturn Rings>> are powerful energy discs that eliminate pain. They move up and down over the targeted area cleaning out all low lying energies. Have used it for sore knees, etc.

The Reiki Shower is a deep cleansing with beads of white energy coming from the shower head and clears out all negativity. Have used it for kidney stones as the shower breaks up the stones and turns them into powder.

#44 Ground Your Practice in Love, Not Numbers 💡

By Rickie Meryl Freedman, https://www.ReikiByRickie.com

I am the creator and owner of Harrisburg PA’s first Reiki Center – “Reiki by Rickie ~ ReikiSpace & Learning Place open 12+ years now. ReikiSpace was manifested using the energetic Laws, and is managed daily by the Reiki Healing Principles of Love, Trust and Service. There is no emphasis on dollars, numbers, competition or fear.

Reiki is very personal. I find that people need to meet you in person, feel your energy and see that you are grounded, consistent, and not spacey or “new-agey”. We need to represent Reiki in the professional and natural way it deserves. Everyone can relate to the benefits of stress management, Inner Peace and Balance.

#45 Healing Grows Stronger When You Stay Connected 💡

By Donna McDine, https://energyofserenity.com

Within two to three days after a Reiki session or class, I make it a point to check in with each participant, creating a space for them to reflect on their experiences and express any lingering thoughts or questions. This follow-up cultivates a comforting atmosphere where individuals feel safe to share. By encouraging open dialogue, we raise our collective vibration, fostering a community of support and understanding. Each interaction becomes an opportunity for deeper connection, allowing clients and students to feel valued and heard in their individual journeys.

#46 Hold Boundaries with Kindness, Not Division 🌱

By Nathalie Jaspar, https://diveintoreiki.com

In a time marked by division, I now try to constantly remind myself to acknowledge my fears and frustrations so they don’t close my heart to connection, compassion, and kindness. This doesn’t mean enabling harmful behavior or ignoring our boundaries—it means judging less, which naturally leads to less othering. It can be hard work, but it’s worth it if it helps cultivate greater peace in my heart and mind.

#47 Open to the Lessons Reiki Brings Through Animals 🌱

By Michele Lowry, https://www.nikoenaturaltherapies.com

During my weekly volunteer time at a New Hampshire shelter, the most unexpected animal was brought in to receive support. My passion to offer Reiki to animals expanded into local shelters and since 2008 this has brought incredible personal teachings in partnership with these animals. This is a very different environment to share Reiki and the experiences have brought new insights into how Reiki brings undeniable emotional and physical healing to animals who were either untouchable or highly traumatized. The biggest gift has been the staff’s reactions to the sometimes immediate shifts in the animals they care for and know so well.
Animals are the most amazing teachers, especially with Reiki!

#48 Reiki Is Your Edge, Even in the Toughest Moments 🌱

One of the most powerful moments I realized just how much of an advantage Reiki gives me happened in my martial arts training. During practice in the dojo, my wrist got twisted in a move. While others would have had to step out, ice it, or push through the pain, I simply placed one hand over my wrist and did Reiki. Within moments, the pain was gone.

I’ve always fully understood I had an edge over everyone in the dojo. While they relied solely on physical recovery, I had access to something deeper: the ability to shift and heal my energy instantly.

<<It’s really awesome what you do. My knee pain is gone now. Thank you!>>
<<I felt like I was communing with God.>>
<<This can’t possibly be real—but it is!>>

It’s also worth mentioning that we, as practitioners, benefit tremendously as well. In these challenging times, it is so therapeutic to be a helper, to be able to DO something. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

#50 Reiki Reveals What the Heart Already Knows 🌱

By Marleen Duffy, https://www.medicalreikiireland.ie

One of the most fascinating and life-changing aspects of my Reiki journey has been witnessing the profound ways in which energy works. Reiki is not just a healing practice; it is a gateway to deeper awareness, synchronicity, and connection. While we may not fully understand the mechanics of this universal energy, one thing is clear—Reiki has an extraordinary ability to reveal what is present in a person’s energetic field. Whether it’s recent experiences lingering in the aura, the presence of loved ones, or even divine energies offering guidance, Reiki consistently proves its intelligence.

#51 Shift the Story, Shift the Energy 🌀

By Vicky Roncero, https://ronceroreiki.com

It is a beautiful honor to be invited into someone’s story. To hold space for another in light is truly a gift. And, when we can use tools like words to help foster the best outcome, we can witness miracles happen. When people can see their power, their beauty, and their limitless potential, they can experience big changes in their lives. They can start creating the best chapters of their lives, knowing they hold the pen.

#52 Tradition Is the Seed, Not the Limit 💡

By Mark Hosak, https://www.shingon-reiki.com

The question of whether traditional applications of symbols are as effective as modern digital methods remains an intriguing one. For example, the Distance Healing Symbol seems unnecessary in an online setting. From a Buddhist perspective, space does not separate us—it connects us. Thus, Reiki transmitted via the internet functions similarly to an in-person session.

However, it is not that Reiki itself adapts to circumstances; rather, we continually discover new ways to apply Reiki as our understanding evolves. And we are certainly far from reaching the limits of what is possible. This suggests that Reiki may be applicable in dimensions we have yet to explore. I am excited to see what new possibilities will emerge in the coming years.

#53 The Heart Knows No Distance 💡

By Dr. Thea van der Merwe, https://www.viterra.co.za

I NEVER doubt the beauty and effectiveness of distant healing. It works!

I spend a significant time on preparation for a distant healing session, usually with some serious pendulum dowsing and a number of dowsing charts I have put together to assist and guide me in this prep-work for clients. The quantum field holds so much of the information about us, and I find this a useful and insightful way of accessing that information prior to the actual distant healing session.

#54 Follow Your Heart Deeper into the Practice 💡

By Yolanda Williams, https://www.theenergeticalchemist.com

The beauty and gift of Reiki is that it continues to be a teacher. It will continue to support us in our efforts if we continue to practice. It’s that simple. And while this has been a love letter to Reiki, in a way, it’s also a letter of encouragement for all of my fellow seekers and practitioners. Dare to keep following your heart into the depths of the unknown for the sake of your healing. May you witness what Reiki is revealing to you, about you and life. May you acknowledge the ways that you’ve grown and continue to grow. May you find peace in Gassho and compassion – just for today.

#55 Reiki Connects Us — Beyond Tradition, Beyond Words 🌱

By René Vögtli, https://reiki-conciliation.org

<<The beauty of Reiki is its simplicity.>>
<<The importance of Reiki is the self-treat.>>

If I had another important sentence to add to the above two, then it is that. The ‘energy’ (modern scientists question if reiki can be called that – which is one reason why I differentiate my spelling between the practice, the history, etc. of Reiki and the energetic phenomena reiki) … let me start again: The reiki-‘energy’ in our hands is the same irrespective of our tradition and styles. This is an important, pacifying factor from whence we can draw confidence.

Now…

As you come to the end of this inspiring article, may you carry with you the gentle power of these voices, the quiet strength of their lived experiences, and the sacred reminder that you are never walking this path alone.

Whether one quote lit a spark or many moved your heart, trust that Reiki meets you exactly where you are. Let these insights continue to echo through your practice, guiding your hands, softening your thoughts, and opening your heart.
