It was two years ago—almost down to the week—that iconic brunette Jennifer Love Hewitt took fans by surprise by suddenly going blonde. I found myself questioning everything I've ever known. OK, not everything I've ever known, but I was definitely shook, not only because I never imagined her as anything other than brunette but because she also looked so freakin' fabulous as a blonde. She went back to brown not too long after, and I figured she'd gotten big hair color changes out of her system. But I was wrong—and her bold new hue is oh-so right.

On Thursday, May 9, the 9-1-1 star posted a gorgeous selfie to Instagram showing off her new coppery-red hair. “I have wanted to be red for so long! @nikkilee901 crushed this color,” she said, tagging her go-to colorist, Nikki Lee of 901 Salon. “She named my color Sunset Lover.”

Lee also shared a carousel to her own Instagram showing a before of Hewitt's shoulder-length brown hair with blonde highlights, mixing the magical color in a bowl, and a stunning video and closeup photo of the incredible color and added length. She tagged Great Lengths—a shoutout to Hewitt's new extensions.
