The 2026 animated film Goat, featuring the voices of Aaron Pierre and David Harbour, will reportedly land on Netflix next month. The film is animated by the same studio that worked on the Spider-Verse films and Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters.

Goat is nearing its Netflix streaming date

Netflix will reportedly add the animated film Goat to its streaming library sometime in May 2026. Although the streamer has yet to announce the exact streaming release date, What’s on Netflix reports that it is likely to arrive next month.

The film takes place in a world of anthropomorphic animals. Its story centers on Will Harris, a young goat who aspires to become a roarball (a combination of basketball, soccer, and rugby) player for the Vineland Thorns. When his video from a local game goes viral, Will earns a place on the team. However, upon his arrival, he faces tension from his idol, Jett Fillmore.

Tyree Dillihay directed the film with a script from Nicolas Curcio and Peter Chiarelli. Reportedly, executive producer Fonda Snyder developed the film’s premise from a chapter titled “Farm Team” in Chris Tougas’s unpublished book Funky Dunks (via AWN). “At the same time, my son read the treatment and suggested that Stephen Curry should be involved as he is the IRL GOAT!” Snyder added.

Subsequently, NBA star Stephen Curry joined as a co-producer and lent his voice to the character Lenny Williamson. The rest of the film’s voice cast includes Aaron Pierre as Mane, David Harbour as Archie, Stranger Things’ Caleb McLaughlin as Will, Gabrielle Union as Jett, Jelly Roll as Grizz, Patton Oswalt as Dennis, and Dwyane Wade as Rosette, among others.

Sony Pictures Imageworks animated Goat. The studio has animated films such as The Polar Express, the Hotel Transylvania trilogy, the Spider-Verse films, and KPop Demon Hunters, among many others.

Released on February 13, 2026, the film received generally positive reviews. On Rotten Tomatoes, it holds an 85% Tomatometer score and a 93% Popcornmeter score. The film reportedly cost $80-90 million to make. It ended its theatrical run with $188.3 million at the global box office.
