Considered one of the best movies of 2025, A24‘s latest critically acclaimed movie starring Academy Award nominee Timothée Chalamet has finally found a streaming home. This comes four months after the comedy-drama film was released in theaters, where it grossed around $191 million at the box office.

What Timothée Chalamet movie is now available on HBO Max?

Beginning today, Chalamet’s sports dramedy film Marty Supreme is officially available to stream on HBO Max. In the movie, the Dune star portrayed the role of Marty Mauser, a table tennis champion who strives to become the greatest athlete in the sport. For his leading performance, Chalamet won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor. Since its 2025 debut, the film has received a high approval rating of 93% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 353 reviews.

“In the film, Marty Mauser, a young man with a dream no one respects, goes to hell and back in pursuit of greatness,” reads the official synopsis.

The movie was directed by Uncut Gems co-director Josh Safdie, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Ronald Bronstein. The ensemble cast also included Gwyneth Paltrow as Kay Stone, Odessa A’zion as Rachel, Kevin O’Leary as Milton Rockwell, Tyler Okonma aka Tyler the Creator as Wally, Abel Ferrara as Ezra, Fran Drescher as Mrs. Mauser, Kevin O’Leary as Milton Rockwell, Fred Hechinger as Troy, and more.

Chalamet’s character was loosely inspired by real-life champion table tennis player Marty Reisman. It was produced by Safdie, Bronstein, Chalamet, Eli Bush, and Anthony Katagas, with Timo Argillander, Joe Guest, Sara Rossein, and Andrea Scarso serving as executive producers. The creative team consisted of director of photography Darius Khondji, composer Daniel Lopatin, production designer Jack Fisk, and costume designer Miyako Bellizzi.
