Alyson Hannigan has shared a tribute to her Buffy the Vampire Slayer co-star Nicholas Brendon.

The actor passed away on Friday (March 20) and Alyson shared a sweet Instagram post in his memory not long after the announcement was made public.

The 51-year-old actress, who played Willow on the popular WB show, posted a screenshot of her character and Nicholas‘ character Xander hugging from an episode of Buffy.

“My Sweet Nicky, thank you for years of laughter, love and Dodgers. I will think of you every time I see a rocking chair. I love you. RIP 💔😢” she wrote in the caption.

On Buffy, Willow and Xander were best friends and part of the beloved “Scooby gang” that comprised the core group.

Many fans commented on Alyson‘s post to express their condolences.

“i still can’t believe it…… sending my love and hugs during this time 🥺🫂🤍” wrote one person.

“So sorry, Alyson. The work the two of you did together changed lives. ❤️” said another.

She also shared the post in her Instagram Story.

Nicholas‘ family released a statement saying he passed away in his sleep from natural causes at the age of 54.
