Prime Video has shared the official trailer for American Gladiators, its newest reality competition show, featuring Mike “The Miz” Mizanin and Rocsi Diaz as hosts. It serves as a reboot of the iconic physical series of the same name, which lasted for seven seasons from 1989 to 1996.

The first three episodes will start streaming on Friday, April 17, followed by three new episodes releasing on April 24. Afterward, the final four episodes will drop on May 1.

The video offers a glimpse at the new reboot’s 24 contenders from across the country, who will be facing 16 Gladiators in a series of grueling physical challenges. The trailer highlights some of the show’s intense matches, as each player is determined to prove their strength, speed, and determination. It also features a snippet of its official theme song titled “Rise Up,” sung by Grammy winner Jelly Roll.

The Season 1 gladiators include: Abigail Lay as Blaze, Ayinde Warren as Neon, Dani Means as Voltage, Dani Speegle as Crush, Drew Aggouras as Ace, Emily Nelson as Striker, Eric Bugenhagen as The Bull, Fessy Shafaat as Mayhem, Jason Peele as Eagle, Jessica Roden as Supernova, Jessie Godderz as Steel, Joseph Hall as Lightning, Kailey Latimer as Hurricane, Lu Faustin as Empire, Michael Wardlow as Fang, and Sydney Hunter as Huntress.

“Each episode of the fan-favorite competition features amateur male and female Contenders from across the nation stepping into the Arena to face 16 powerful new American Gladiators,” reads the official logline. “From classic events like Joust, Powerball, Hang Tough, and The Wall, to high-impact new events including The Ring and Collision, every showdown demands strength, strategy, and pure grit. Only one man and one woman will conquer the Arena, claim $100,000, and earn the title of American Gladiator Champion.”

American Gladiators was created by Johnny C. Ferraro, who is executive producing alongside showrunner Daniel Calin. It is executive-produced by Barry Poznick. Susan Janis-Mashayekhi, Sarah Happel Jackson, and Adam Cooper, with Ramy Romany serving as its director. The reboot is produced by Amazon MGM Studios.
