From the Publisher:

Like streaming music and films for endless entertainment, you can now choose from a growing number of games in the Multi Game System. Each component in this compact system is carefully crafted to play in a wide variety of games, at home or away.

For centuries, playing cards have been used, to play many popular games. Today, quality wood, bronze or printed chip components are used interchangeably to play lots of games. The main components are square tiles, with colors and symbols on both sides. You can play more games, with more players, when you possess more tiles.

When Multi Game System books are released, you can extend your game collection. When new Multi Game System books are released you can expand your game collection. The style or type of games is growing and many games get updated with alternative play or expansions. They are created by casual and prolific designers from the USA, UK and Germany, plus a few classics designed in Ancient Egypt or the Roman Empire.

Build up your game library, step by step, with additional components designed for play with upcoming books. Keep your home clean and the environment green, with these compact and enduring pieces.

It is a GAME DESIGN KIT with many styles of tiles, dice and disks for you to expand, design and develop your own games. Dream Lands is more interesting with these extra tiles and Assyrians can now be played with up to 20 players! We are designing new games and expansions which use the designer kit tiles. Take a look at how the components have been used in the 26 games and you will be inspired to design yourself.

You will be surprised how well the components allow you to play so many dice, card, or tile games. Checkers a simple game with the rules readily available online, and even Chess can be played with the MGS tiles. As you successfully implement more complicated games your confidence and ambition will grow.

The tiles can be put together in different combinations to give the components needed to play your own game designs. Game designers should get this kit and test their own games. We are open to publish your game in the next rule books, if it uses these components.

Review:

Initial Thoughts:

I’m a huge fan of variety and choice, being able to play many games and not feel like I’m playing the same game with the same actions over and over again. So, a game system that would allow me to play a fair number of games without having to shell out a bunch of hard-earned money for each game intrigues me. If a game system can truly deliver on such a concept, it is worthy of my time. It will be interesting looking into the system to see if it can do everything it claims to be able to do.

Rules & Setup:

The game system includes the ability to obtain game books that include the rules for games using the components you already have. Each rule book is set up differently but includes all the rules needed to play that particular game. The game books are separated into categories from which players may pick. The categories include Crowd Pleasers, Light Hearted Games, Family Games, Mind Games, Strategy Games, and Brain Burners.

The setup of each game is described in the associated game book.

Theme and Mechanics:

Each game book includes a particular theme and mechanic. You will need to explore the books to discover each one.

Gameplay:

Gameplay varies depending on the type of game picked. Most of the Crowd Pleaser games involve some sort of memory component where players have to remember where items are in the game. Light Hearted Games involve a bit of resource management. Family Games include both cooperative and competitive games. Mind Games are mostly head-to-head and involve a bit of strategy. Strategy Games involve much more strategic gameplay. And Brain Burners involve a high degree of strategy.

It seems to me that people either like game systems, where you can use pieces for a number of different games, or they don’t like how loose and sometimes simple the games can be. The concept of being able to pull out a game book and the associated pieces and play a game is very enticing; plus the storage space savings if I don’t need a bunch of room for each game. Some of the game books I found very interesting and some I didn’t find interesting at all. The problem this presents is that it isn’t easy to get behind the full gaming system when my interests are both piqued and turned off. Are there games that may interest you, sure. There is a good variety of possible games, and the possibility for a new game that doesn’t require you to do anything other than get the game book. I won’t be able to make a recommendation or not because of this variety, but I will say you should go check it out and make the determination for yourself. There may be something there of interest to you.

Thomas Shepherd – Reviewer

Grew up loving to solve puzzles, play games.  In younger years he had fun playing pencil games, playing D&D with friends, and hanging out with others. His favorite thing to do was to make puzzles, mazes, word games, picture games, etc. Sadly his career took him in a different direction. Gaming came back into his life, though, about 15 years ago & held onto it since. He enjoys designing games and has 9 published titles, through, Toresh Games. Sadly he wasn’t able to sustain the company. He would love to see a return to games as the best social media platform for the masses.
