Andrew Garfield is revealing his thoughts on celebrities getting Botox.

The 43-year-old actor took part in Vanity Fair‘s lie detector test series with his The Magic Faraway Tree co-star Claire Foy, where, at one point, they talked about emotional vulnerability in acting. This led them to start talking about actors getting botox.

Claire asked Andrew if he thought emotional vulnerability makes someone a better actor, to which he replied yes.

When asked if he thought actors could be too emotional, Andrew said yes.

She then asked, “Do you think that Botox is preventing that from being a reality?”

“Oh, god, that’s tricky,” he replied. “I wanna tread a bit carefully here, ’cause I have obviously a very particular belief that it would be great if we lived in a society where no one felt the pressure to do anything to their faces. But unfortunately, I understand that we are in a society where there is a pressure to do stuff to the faces, especially for the women.”

Claire then asked, “Do you think that actors doing things to their faces is the reason why other people do things to their faces?”

“I think for better or worse, people look to people in the public eye to decide what the norm is, or what is quote unquote aspirational,” Andrew said. “And I think it’s yeah, I think there is a responsibility that we have being in the public eye to take care of our faces in a natural way.

One former reality star is swearing off Botox.
