In Courtroom, two teams compete: one side representing the Prosecution, aiming to convince the jury of the defendant’s guilt, while the other represents the Defense and fights for the defendant’s acquittal. The verdict depends on the closing arguments from both sides: if you can build stronger case than the opposition, you will win the case!

The Courtroom box includes three unique, standalone cases, each designed as a one-time mystery experience for your group – with no components altered or destroyed.

  1. Death in the Suburbs
A man was found dead in his garage in a quiet suburb of Albany, New York. Was it an accident or foul play?
  2. A Fallen Western Star
A young actress vanished from the streets of Hollywood. Who hired the man that kidnapped her?
  3. Sheridan Grand Hotel
A Belgian diplomat was found dead in his hotel room. What was the motive, and who had the opportunity to get into his room?

In each case, three distinct phases unfold: Discovery, Testimonies, and the presentation of the Closing Argument, which ultimately determines the verdict.

Discovery Phase

The two teams take turns drawing from a pool of 15 pieces of evidence, uncovering new clues while deciding which 2 to keep hidden from the opposing team. Players must weigh their choices carefully, as the last piece of evidence will remain undiscovered.

Testimony Phase

Both teams question the 6 witnesses one by one about an Evidence card of their choice to uncover further information – hoping their response will be valuable to their side. Each team also has 2 Motion Tokens, which can be used to ask an extra question, or object to a question from their opponent and prevent the witness from sharing information with the other team.

Closing Argument

At the end of the game, both teams use the evidence they have gathered to build and present their own version of the case in an epic speech. The closing argument is then scored in two areas: Concepts, which reflect how successfully the team pieced together the overall story from their perspective, and Uncertain Jury points, awarded to the teams for convincing undecided jurors using details from the case they are particularly interested in. The team with the highest total score wins the case.
