Euphoria Season 3 reviews are beginning to pour in for the hit HBO series, and surprisingly, the latest season of the show starring Zendaya marks her worst-reviewed project in some time.

Euphoria Season 3 reviews point to rough entry for HBO show

On Rotten Tomatoes, Euphoria Season 3 debuted on the aggregator with a low score of just 56%. The low score is a major departure from the series, as the first season of the show scored an 80%, and the second season of the show, while lower, scored a 78%.

The third season of the show’s reviews are largely critical of the narrative of the show outside of the first two season’s high school setting, with many calling it hollow compared to its past efforts. While certain performances, including Zendaya’s and other stars, most reviews point to the show becoming much too busy for its own good.

The low reviews for Season 3 of Euphoria mark not only a low in the series, but also a low for Zendaya for the first time in some time. Previously, the last time a project she was in scored this low was in 2021, with Space Jam: A New Legacy, which scored a 25%, and starred Zendaya as Lola Bunny.

Prior to that, Zendaya’s lowest projects were 2017’s The Greatest Showman, which surprisingly only scored a 56%, and 2021’s Malcolm & Marie, which also scored a 57%. Despite the low scores for Euphoria Season 3, there is some positive takeaways. Several critics reviews do point to the show being as entertaining as ever, and praise Zendaya and the cast’s performances.

The third season, which is set to premiere on April 12, 2026, also scored majorly higher than creator Sam Levinson’s last HBO series, The Idol. That show holds just a 19% score on Rotten Tomatoes, and has been heavily criticized by many.
