'Battlefield' Film Adaptation in the Works with Michael B. Jordan Potentially Starring

One of 2025′s most popular video games is being developed into a film that will potentially star Michael B. Jordan.

The military video game Battlefield is at the center of what might become a massive bidding war, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

McQuarrie is attacked to write, direct, and produce a feature adaptation of the game, which is from Electronic Arts (EA) who will serve as a producer, too. Michael is attached to produce, and potentially star, but THR says that is dependent “on several factors.”

The filmmaker and several others pitched the idea to streamers and studios this week, with a theatrical release being prioritized. It will be an incredibly expensive project between getting the rights to the game and the talent involved.

Similar to Call of Duty, the Battlefield franchise is known for being a military first-person shooter game and it’s extremely popular. A Call of Duty project is also in development at Paramount.

Earlier this month, it was announced that production on the upcoming Elden Ring film adaptation from writer and director Alex Garland had started! More details here.
