General Hospital fans may have thought Jenz Sidwell’s story was over after his recent arrest and legal troubles. However, Carlo Rota, who plays the dangerous villain, has now revealed that Sidwell still has more trouble to cause in Port Charles.

Sidwell’s General Hospital exit isn’t nearly as final as it looked

Jenz Sidwell was last seen on the July 6 episode of General Hospital, when he met with Jordan at the police station and tried to convince her to help him. After Jordan refused, Sidwell threatened revenge, leaving his future conflict with Port Charles residents unresolved.

Carlo Rota has confirmed that Sidwell will return to General Hospital despite the character taking a plea deal that will keep him behind bars for 31 years. The actor shared the update during GH Fan Club Weekend in early August, revealing that viewers will see Sidwell at Pentonville as his storyline continues.

According to Soap Central, he hosted an event with his wife, Nazneen Contractor. During the gathering, Rota teased Sidwell’s next appearance. “I am in prison with another character from the show. We share a cell.” However, the actor did not reveal who that character is or when Sidwell will next appear.

The actor joined General Hospital in August 2024, with Sidwell quickly becoming one of the show’s major villains. His crimes included poisoning Maxie, killing Henry Dalton, blackmailing Sonny and Laura, and working with WSB double agent Ross Cullum on a dangerous cold fusion reactor.

Authorities finally arrested him on July 2 after he held Sonny, Justine, Ava, and Ethan hostage at the Jerome Art Gallery. His legal problems later came into focus this week when Molly revealed that Sidwell had accepted a plea deal. As a result, he will spend 31 years in prison, with the possibility of parole in roughly 26 years.

Sidwell’s prison sentence may have looked like the end, but Rota’s comments prove otherwise. His return could affect several storylines on the soap.
