Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayThe House of David series is expanding its world with a three-part special set that takes place before its events. Led by Ben Kingsley and set to stream later this month, The Old Stories: Moses will serve as a prequel to the parent show, set before David became the King of Israel. The original premiered its first season on Amazon Prime Video in February 2025 and dropped its second on Wonder Project later that year, in October.
The Old Stories: Moses gets Wonder Project release date
The three-part companion special to House of David will launch exclusively on Wonder Project on May 14, 2026. It will follow the Biblical prophet, Moses, an important figure in Abrahamic religions like Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, who led the Israelites in their Exodus from Egypt.
The Old Stories: Moses will mark the latest media adaptation to tell his story after efforts from films like The Ten Commandments (1923), DreamWorks Pictures’ animated feature The Prince of Egypt (1998), and Ridley Scott’s Exodus: Gods and Kings (2014).
The studio recently released an official trailer offering a glimpse into the story. Running for two minutes and 17 seconds, it touches on Moses’ prophethood, his life in Egypt, his troubled relationship with the Pharaoh, and his mission to save the Israelites.
Jon Erwin, who created House of David, developed the special. Ben Kingsley plays Moses, marking the second time he has essayed the character after the 1995 internationally co-produced eponymous miniseries, which aired on TNT Network.
Moreover, O-T Fagbenle appears as Pharaoh. Meanwhile, the supporting cast includes Louis Ferreira, Anna Khaja, and Rada Rae.
“From the world of House of David, THE OLD STORIES: MOSES is a three-part companion special that opens a window into the narratives that shaped Israel long before David took the throne,” the official synopsis reads. “As the past unfolds with epic force, a young shepherd sees his own future reflected in the courage, failure, and obedience of those who came before him.”
To watch the three-part special, fans must subscribe to Wonder Project via Amazon Prime Video. They can opt for a monthly plan for $8.99 or an annual one costing $89.99.
