A woman who accused Bill Cosby of drugging and sexually assaulting her in the ’70s has won her court case in California.

The jury found the comedian liable, and awarded Donna Motsinger $19.25 million in damages.

The verdict in the civil lawsuit came down on Monday (March 23), following her accusation that Bill gave her wine and a pill that rendered her incapacitated, then assaulted her after inviting her to a comedy show in 1972.

The win includes $17.5 million for past non-economic damages and $1.75 million in future non-economic damages, her attorney tells People.

Additional punitive damages will reportedly be determined later in the day as well.

“It has been 54 years to get justice, and I know it’s not complete for the rest of the women, but I hope it helps them a little bit,” she said outside the court, according to The New York Times.

Bill Cosby has denied the allegations. Jennifer Bonjean, Bill‘s attorney, said he plans to appeal the decision.

“I was obviously disappointed in the decision, but we believe we have a strong appeal and we’ll pursue that,” she said.

Despite the allegation being over 50 years old, changes in California law expanded the statute of limitations for sexual assault claims, per People.

Over 60 women have accused the Cosby Show star of sexual misconduct throughout the years.

In 2018, Bill was sentenced to a decade in prison, but his conviction was overturned on procedural grounds, and he was ultimately released.
