Billy Joel‘s daughter is sharing an update on how he’s doing amid his health battle.

If you didn’t see the news, the 76-year-old “Uptown Girl” singer announced in May 2025 that he is cancelling all of his scheduled tour dates after he was diagnosed with the brain disorder normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH).

In a new interview, Alexa Ray Joel provided an update on how Billy is doing these days.

Keep reading to find out more…“He’s doing physical therapy regularly and he’s doing great,” Alexa Ray, 40, told The Hollywood Reporter in a story published on Thursday (March 12).

“He’s lost weight as he’s on his diet,” she continued. “I’m so proud of him. He’s such a trooper, so resilient and committed to being healthy and proactive. He’s a fighter. He’s always been a fighter and talks in his documentary about how life’s like a fight.”

If you didn’t know, Billy shares Alexa Ray with ex-wife Christie Brinkley. The “Piano Man” singer is also dad to daughters Della Rose, 10, and Remy Anne, 8, whom he shares with wife Alex Roderick, whom he has been married to since 2015.
