When Blackpink rapped “get ‘em, get ‘em, get ‘em” on the “Pink Venom” chorus, they could have been talking about YouTube view counts. Almost exactly three years after its release, the video for “Pink Venom” has surpassed one billion YouTube views.

“Pink Venom” is Blackpink’s sixth video to reach this milestone, following “DDU-DU DDU-DU,” “Kill This Love,” “BOOMBAYAH,” “AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST,” and “How You Like That.” Two videos from individual members, Lisa’s “Money” and Jennie’s “Solo,” have also joined the club.

The song was released as the first single off the group’s sophomore record, Born Pink. “Pink Venom” peaked at number 22 on the Billboard Hot 100, while the album reached the top spot on the Billboard 200.

The video has been making an impact since its release: “Pink Venom” was the biggest 24-hour music video debut of 2022, and the third-largest 24-hour music video debut of all time. Upon its premiere, the group broke the record previously held by their own “How You Like That” for the most-viewed video by a female artist or group in a single day.

Directed by frequent collaborator Seo Hyun-seung, the video is distinctly Blackpink in its style. Opening on a shot of Jisoo playing a Korean geomungo surrounded by a hooded crowd in VR headsets, the visuals combine the traditional and modern influences found in the song’s instrumentation. The video’s dance sequences were choreographed by Kiel Tuten and Sienna Lalau, who have also worked with Twice and BTS.

“Pink Venom” won Best Music Video at the 2022 MAMA Awards, as well as Best Choreography at the 2023 MTV VMAs.

2025 has seen Blackpink mainly focused on solo projects, including Lisa’s acting turn in The White Lotus, but the members recently returned as a group with a new single and video, “Jump.” Blackpink also just wrapped up the North American leg of their DEADLINE world tour, and are now performing across Europe. The tour will continue on to Asia, where it will conclude in Hong Kong in January.
