Meet Blinky. The African Pygmy Hedgehog! Hedgehogs are nocturnal and use their amazing sense of smell to hunt! They eat mostly bugs, but also eggs, lizards, fruit, and plants Sometimes, they will chew on toxic plants and then wipe the toxins on their quills. This keeps predators away when they roll in a ball as a defense Fun fact: they are resistant to most toxins! Our girl Blinky here, is sadly nearly blind. She lost one eye in a fight with another hedgehog -- they should NEVER be housed together. She lost vision in her other eye to a degenerative disease. Blinky now lives at Animal Wonders and is a very happy girl! We love you, Blinky!
