Brad Pitt has starred in quite a few World War II movies. One of the most violent and satisfying titles among them will soon be available to stream on a major platform.

Inglourious Basterds will stream on Hulu next month

The 2009 black comedy war movie Inglourious Basterds will begin streaming on Hulu on September 1, 2026. Some of the other movies releasing on the platform that day are Beauties of the Night, Come Into My Life, Ice Age: The Meltdown, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, and Jennifer’s Body.

Quentin Tarantino wrote and directed the movie as an alternate history set during the height of the Second World War. The storyline revolves around two separate but converging plots to neutralize the Nazi high command at a Paris cinema. One of these plans centers on a team of Jewish American soldiers. Pitt portrays Lieutenant Aldo Raine, or Aldo the Apache, the head of the aforementioned team.

Meanwhile, French Jewish cinema proprietor Shosanna Dreyfus (Mélanie Laurent) seeks to execute the other plot in revenge for the murder of her family. The stellar cast of the movie also includes Christoph Waltz as Standartenführer Hans Landa, Michael Fassbender as Lieutenant Archie Hicox, and Diane Kruger as Bridget von Hammersmark.

Following its release, Inglourious Basterds received widespread acclaim. It currently has an 89% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 331 reviews. ComingSoon’s Brad Brevet gave the movie an A- rating. “I was able to sit back and enjoy every minute, although I still won’t say it ends up being the ‘masterpiece’ the film’s final line of dialogue claims it to be, but if you are a fan of Tarantino, you would be hard-pressed not to enjoy yourself, and I expect many to come out absolutely loving it,” Brevet shared.

Additionally, the movie grossed over $321 million worldwide (via Box Office Mojo) and received eight Oscar nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director. Waltz won in the Best Supporting Actor category for his performance as Hans Landa.
