Ahead of its streaming debut on Apple TV, early Outcome reviews for Jonah Hill‘s latest directorial feature are starting to arrive online, giving lead star Keanu Reeves one of his worst-rated movies to date. This marks John Wick star’s first movie of 2026, after appearing in last year’s Ballerina and Good Fortune.

Outcome reviews call Keanu Reeves movie as unfunny

So far, Outcome has already received an approval rating of 14% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 14 reviews. This a bad start for star-studded movie, which also features Hill, Cameron Diaz, and Matt Bomer. A majority of the critics have brutally called out the film for its messy tone and unfunny sequences. They felt that Hill’s good intentions of delivering a social commentary on the real side of Hollywood didn’t translated well into the screen.

The film’s low score breaks Reeves’ momentum, as it has been a long time since The Matrix vet starred in a badly-reviewed movie. Since 2019, Reeves has mostly starred in movies with Certifed Fresh scores on Rotten Tomatoes, including last year’s John Wick spin-off Ballerina (75%) with Ana de Armas and the comedy film Good Fortune with Seth Rogen (78%).

Before Outcome, 2018’s sci-fi thriller movie Replicas was Reeves’ last movie that earned negative reviews with a score of 9%. However, the new Apple TV movie remains to have a slightly better results than Reeves’ mystery thriller film Siberia, which currently holds a 12% RT score. At the moment, the blockbuster star’s lowest-rated movie is still 2012’s R-rated drama Generation Um.

Outcome is directed by Hill, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Ezra Woods. Additional cast includes David Spade, Kaia Gerber, Susan Lucci, Martin Scorsese, Atsuko Okatsuka, Roy Wood, Jr., Welker White, and Ivy Wolk. Matt Dines, Alison Goodwin, and Hill are producing, with Adam Merims serving as an executive producer.
