Caitlyn Jenner mourned the loss of her friend Sophia Hutchins back in July 2025 and just four months later, she filed a claim seeking over $400,000 from her late friend’s estate.

Sophia died on July 2 in an ATV accident after she swiped another vehicle and was thrown off the edge of the road, down 350 feet into a ravine. She was 29-years-old.

Sophia, who was also a transgender woman, met Caitlyn in 2015 shortly after the former Olympian announced publicly that she was transitioning. Sophia then appeared on the docu-series I Am Cait and began working as Caitlyn‘s manager, handling public speaking engagements and other ventures. They regularly walked red carpets together over the years.

TMZ reports that Caitlyn filed a claim against Sophia‘s estate in November 2025.

The amount totaled $439,095.88 in unpaid expenses. The report notes that expenses included “credit card charges, cash advances, shopping, and her portion of some shared legal fees.”

While Sophia did have approved access to Caitlyn‘s credit card, the report claims that any personal expenses were to be repaid. That total was more than $273,000.

The other expenses included more than $133,000 in shared legal fees, almost $16,000 in debit card charges, and around $7,000 in cash advances.

Sophia‘s estate reportedly repaid the amount in March 2026.
