A love story, distilled.

With the popularity of Ryan Murphy’s “Love Story,” Carolyn Bessette Kennedy’s timeless style is in the limelight once again — and fashionistas are snapping up tortoise headbands and Levi’s bootcut jeans like it’s 1997 all over again.

Of course, her signature beauty aestheticruby lips and glossy locks — is also inspiring trends. However, it’s not as well known that the style icon also wore an Egyptian musk perfume oil that was sold on the streets of New York City, and is currently impossible to procure.

Yet, her dear friend Narciso Rodriguez, whom she asked to design her wedding gown for her nuptials to John F. Kennedy Jr., actually created a scent inspired by her: Narciso Rodriguez For Her.

The fashion designer and CBK worked together at Calvin Klein, even living in the same apartment building and sharing spaces.

“Those were really great, memorable years,” Rodriguez recently told Vogue, while speaking to the fashion publicist’s impeccable taste.

So, when Rodriguez created For Her, it was an homage to the “love of my life,” Bessette Kennedy, driven by her signature musk scent and eternal style.

The soft floral chypre was co-created by Christine Nagel and Francis Kurkdjian — the nose behind the famed scent, Baccarat Rouge 540 — before the establishment of his eponymously named fragrance maison. (Both perfumes share notes of amber and musk.)

Available in a parfum and a lighter, more floral-forward eau de toilette, the brand describes it as rare musk with “delicate floral osmanthus notes,” saying it is intimate, sensual and addictive.

With notes of orange blossom, pink floral accord, amber, soft musk, vanilla and woods, both versions have earned legions of devotees.

“I’ve been trying a few other perfumes, but nothing is soft and sexy like this,” reads one review at Nordstrom. (It also comes in a body lotion — a great way to try the scent or layer it for more indulgence.)

Another devotee wrote, “The scent is exquisite — that signature clean, sensual musk feels so intimate and luxurious, like it’s your own skin but better.”

The same person describes, “It opens with soft rose and juicy peach for a delicate floral vibe, then the heart is all warm musk blended with amber, drying down to a beautiful powdery base of patchouli and sandalwood.”

For Her is so popular that it’s spawned iterations Pure Musc, Musc Noir Rose and For Her Intense as well, all of which have excellent feedback from devoted fans.

As for CBK’s enduring allure, Rodriguez, who now dresses stars like Kate Winslet and Salma Hayek, mused, “I think she was always true to herself.”
