Chappell Roan has announced that she is leaving the Wasserman talent agency over the company’s founder Casey Wasserman‘s connection to the Epstein files.

The recent release of millions of documents in the Epstein files included messages exchanges between Wasserman and Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell, who is currently in prison.

Wasserman has not been accused of criminal wrongdoing, but his racy messages with Maxwell have drawn criticism. The messages were sent in 2003, when he was married.

In addition to being a sports and entertainment agent, Wasserman is also the head of the 2028 Olympic Games committee for the city of Los Angeles. He has faced calls to step down from the LA28 role and from his talent agency. Other major clients include Ed Sheeran, Lorde, Coldplay, and Kacey Musgraves.

While she wasn’t represented directly by him, Chappell released a statement on Monday (February 9) to announce she’s leaving the agency.

She wrote on Instagram Stories, “As of today, I am no longer represented by Wasserman, the talent agency led by Casey Wasserman.”

“I hold my teams to the highest standards and have a duty to protect them as well. No artist, agent, or employee should ever be expected to defend or overlook actions that conflict so deeply with our own moral values,” Chappell said. “I have deep respect and appreciation for the agents and staff who work tirelessly for their artists and I refuse to passively stand by. Artists deserve representation that aligns with their values and supports their safety and dignity. This decision reflects my belief that meaningful change in our industry requires accountability and leadership that earns trust.”
