Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayEach year on the first day of spring, my grandparents would begin their spring cleaning. For them, it was a new season that should start with a clean house. In the early morning, we would begin. We each had a job, from taking down the drapes and curtains for washing to cleaning the windows and putting up the window screens. I recall as a child, as I helped my grandmother take items out of the refrigerator to do a deep cleaning. The mindful intention was to move through the house with a fresh new start.
Besides this big spring cleaning, my grandmother always moved through her house with intention and prayer as she cleaned, from sweeping the front porch to washing the dishes. She had a sense of pride in her home; however, she had a lifestyle that allowed her to focus solely on her house.
In my grandmother’s time, it seems the days were less filled. As I think back to those days, it seemed that life was not as rushed or busy. The world certainly has changed from the days of my childhood.
Nowadays, our schedules are fuller, and sometimes we can’t be consistent with a steady cleaning schedule.
When you have a full life, taking care of the daily upkeep of a home may at times feel like a burden. You may feel emotionally drained, and the last thing you may want to do is take out the trash or clean your bathroom.
You may have that one day a week where you have the time and energy to tackle a to-do list or just enough motivation to do one or two chores around the house. You may try to tackle your tasks based on priority, or you may have a chore list that you divide up for each member of the family. There will be times in your life when you find that you have not devoted the time to cleaning as you hoped. From piled-up laundry to dirty dishes in the sink. It may be something you are putting off, yet when you leave for the day and return home, you have that constant reminder of what needs to be done.
When our home is not in order, we may feel off and not at ease when our surroundings are cluttered and in disarray. You may feel more exhausted and overwhelmed as you look around your space.
After a long day and a long week, you may not feel inspired to dust the ceiling fan or clean all the windows of your home. Cleaning your space, your domicile, is a form of self-care. I know when I come home and see a cluttered desk, it certainly doesn’t invoke peace. Cleaning your space ultimately can help. It helps boost your mood and create a lighter atmosphere.
Cleaning can be more than just a physical chore. As Reiki practitioners and Master Teachers, we have energetic tools to help us clean with intention, gratitude, and motivation. By incorporating Reiki symbols and intention, we can shift our cleaning experience from dread to a mindful and positive practice.
As we sweep, rearrange, scrub, wipe, dispose, clear, and bless our space, can we do this with a mindful intention and purpose? Can we ask the energy to help us to help change our habits when it comes to our living and working spaces? How can I effectively integrate Reiki symbols into my daily cleaning routine?

Here are some ways to incorporate Reiki into daily cleaning or deeper home cleansing.
- Set an intention for your home. What would you like more in your home? Peace and harmony. Maybe you intend to create an atmosphere of peace.
- Ask the Reiki to assist you with the energy and motivation to clean or tackle the task of the day.
- Bring in your Power on symbol Cho Ku Rei to help clear any negative energies and to help promote a positive environment in the space you are about to clean.
- Bring in the Mental/Emotional symbol Sei He Ki and ask for clarity, guidance, motivation, and consistently for cleaning your space. Ask for help to have a positive outlook towards cleaning and organizing your space. You can draw the symbol over the top of your head to help you remember when you place items in your house as you clean and organize.
- Bring in the Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen symbol to send Reiki to the future condition and feeling of your home and office space. Ask for assistance to help bring harmony to your body, mind, and spirit as you clean your space.
- As you begin to clear your space, imagine the symbols on the soles of your feet, and as you walk through and around your home, imagine the symbols are being placed in your home. Imagine a Reiki bubble around your home that is helping clean any negativity and invokes an environment of peace and harmony.
- I often play music when I clean. You can always sing, play a sound bowl, clap, and ring a bell. If Sage and a Palo Santos resonate with you, that may be something you can bring into your space.
- Imbue any cleaning supplies with the Reiki energy. As you spray on counters and furniture. Imagine you have your very own Reiki Spray.
- Imagine, as you hold a broom, mop, or vacuum, that you are drawing the symbols around your space. Imagine the symbols on your walls, ceilings, and floors.
- If you are able, depending on the weather, open the windows and doors as you clean or towards the end of your cleaning.
- Sweeping, wiping, clearing, and wiping. Imagine Reiki flowing with every movement you make as you care for your space.
- As you finish, give gratitude. As you go around your house, be thankful for the items that you have acquired in your life, everything from picture frames to your furniture to your rugs to your lamps. Imagine the Reiki tends to your space as you are cleaning your space. Deep cleaning and Releasing.
Our homes hold our energy.
Using Reiki while you clean helps you create a peaceful, mindful atmosphere in your space. It can assist in keeping you motivated and consistent. By being intentional with every movement and inviting Reiki energy, you foster a sense of calm and presence, making your home somewhere you truly want to be. Happy Cleaning.
