One of Netflix‘s beloved live-action fantasy TV shows has officially returned with an all-new season. As of today, all seven episodes of Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 are finally available to stream on Netflix.

What do we know about Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2?

Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 is based on the original animated series’ second installment, titled Chapter 2 – Earth. It features Aang, Katara, and Sokka searching for the right Earthbending master for Aang. The new season is led by Gordon Cormier as Aang, Kiawentiio as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka, Dallas Liu as Zuko, Miya Cech as Toph Beifong, and Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai. Before Season 2 debuted, the cast and crew had already wrapped up production on its third and final season, which will chronicle Aang’s final journey to defeating the Fire Nation.

“The series follows Aang, the young Avatar, as he learns to master the four elements (Water, Earth, Fire, Air) to restore balance to a world threatened by the terrifying Fire Nation. In Season 2, after a bittersweet victory saving the Northern Water Tribe from the invading Fire Nation, Avatar Aang, Katara, and Sokka regroup and set off on a mission to convince the elusive Earth King to aid in their battle against fearsome Fire Lord Ozai,” reads the new logline.

Avatar: The Last Airbender hails from new showrunners Christine Boylan (The Punisher) and Jabbar Raisani (Lost in Space), with Dan Lin, Lindsey Liberatore, and Michael Goi executive producing. Following its 2024 premiere, the live-action adaptation has received an average Tomatometer rating of 62% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Additional cast members include Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, Lim Kay Siu, Ken Leung, Elizabeth Yu, Maria Zhang, C.S. Lee, Utkarsh Ambudkar, A Martinez, Yvonne Chapman, Tamlyn Tomita, and more. Besides Toph, more new characters are also expected to make their debuts in Season 2, including Chin Han as Long Feng, Hoa Xuande as Professor Zei, Justin Chien as King Kuei, Amanda Zhou as Joo Dee, Crystal Yu as Lady Beifong, Kelemete Misipeka as The Boulder, Lourdes Faberes as General Sung, and Rekha Sharma as Amita.
