Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayThe finale of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 set up a shocking new status quo for the next season. Strangely, one of the more interesting changes involves two villains who many viewers felt were largely unnecessary to the series. However, one scene suggests the characters may ultimately get better treatment in the MCU than they did in the comics.

The two villains in question, Dr. Heather Glenn and Muse, were tied together in the first season of Daredevil: Born Again. The artistic serial killer died at Dr. Glenn’s hand after attempting to make her his next victim. The incident traumatized Dr. Glenn and turned her against all people in costumes, heroes and villains. This led to her taking a role in Kingpin’s administration as Commissioner of Mental Health. However, as Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 continued, it became clear that Dr. Glenn was sinking into psychosis. This was a major change from the comics in most respects.
How Daredevil: Born Again improved Heather Glenn
The Heather Glenn of the Daredevil comics was a rich socialite rather than a noted psychiatrist. She pursued Matt Murdock after being charmed by the dashing lawyer. However, she developed a deep hatred for Daredevil, who was responsible for seeing her father arrested.
(Image Source: Marvel Comics / David Mazzucchelli)The revelation that the man she loved was also the vigilante she hated broke Heather. She fell into alcoholism and ultimately ended her own life. The MCU retained the idea of a woman who loved Matt Murdock and hated Daredevil that had a mental breakdown. However, it took that base idea in an entirely different direction.
Over the course of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, it was repeatedly shown that something inside Dr. Glenn had snapped. She abandoned her professional ethics, rigging psychiatric reports to paint those people Kingpin wanted imprisoned as dangerous and mentally unstable. At the same time, she started seeing Muse in mirrors and began choking her new love interest, Buck Cashman, during foreplay.
(Image Source: Marvel Studios)This culminated in the season finale, when Dr. Glenn put on Muse’s mask, suggesting she would adopt his alias. This had already been confirmed by photos on the Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 set showing a “Lady Muse.” And this too is an improvement on the second female Muse from the comics.
How Daredevil: Born Again might improve new Muse
The original Muse from the comics differs from his MCU counterpart in three important respects. Firstly, the comics’ Muse has yet to get a name outside of his chosen alias. Secondly, the comics’ Muse had several superpowers, including the ability to dampen the sensory perceptions of others. Finally, the comics’ Muse ended his own life. However, this did not end his villainy.
(Image Source: Marvel / Jose Luis & Valentina Pinti)After being condemned to Hell, Muse was able to make contact with those souls who had a piece of themselves die and go to Hell. This included a young artist named Morgan Whittier, who had grown frustrated with her work not being accepted. She proved an apt pupil for Muse to inspire before he began possessing her body and continuing his bloody work through her.
It seems unlikely this storyline from 2025’s Daredevil: Unleash Hell miniseries will be adapted for the MCU. While ghostly possession is far from impossible within the setting, Muse possessing his murderer wouldn’t fit the grounded tone of Daredevil: Born Again. However, Muse being reborn as Dr. Glenn becomes a textbook case of the victim becoming the abuser is a far more interesting development for both MCU villains.
