The Armani Group has confirmed Dario Vitale as the new creative director of Emporio Armani and Giorgio Armani Accessories. The announcement was made in Milan on the 16th of September, marking a historic first for the house. Vitale becomes the first person outside the Armani family to hold this creative position since the brand’s founding.

Vitale enters with years of experience across the fashion industry; he has built a reputation for keeping attention to products, quality, consistency, and contemporary design—with this background the Group sees him as the right fit for this next phase. His appointment signals more than a change in title; it opens a fresh dialogue between the house’s heritage and its future direction while still respecting the design language Giorgio Armani established decades ago.

As Vitale speaks more about his role, he expresses, “I am honored to take on this dual role across Emporio Armani and Giorgio Armani and deeply grateful to Silvana and Leo for welcoming me into their world. Armani has a powerful legacy and unmistakable design language, a heritage that has spanned decades and shaped the history of fashion. I approach all of this with a deep sense of responsibility and excitement as we build upon that rich foundation, defining a new era together.”

Silvana Armani, Head of Womenswear Design, and Leo Dell’Orco, Head of Menswear Design, echoed that sentiment, and they described Emporio Armani as a space born from freedom and experimentation and said they trust Vitale to carry that spirit forward with respect and authenticity.

Giuseppe Marsocci, CEO and Managing Director of the Armani Group, called Vitale’s arrival a significant milestone for the house. He highlighted Emporio Armani’s strategic importance globally and accessories line as a major opportunity for growth. According to Marsocci, the Group is entering this new chapter with confidence.

Vitale steps into the role with immediate effect; his first collection will be closely watched as the industry waits to see how he balances Armani’s long-standing codes with his own creative instincts.
