Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayVictoria Beckham Says She, David Beckham Don't Put "Any Pressure" on Kids Amid Brooklyn Beckham Feud
David Beckham has just scored another major goal.
The former soccer star has officially been deemed the first British athlete to surpass billionaire status. The Sunday Times Rich List released May 15 estimates his and wife Victoria Beckham’s combined net worth at about $1.6 billion, earning over $600 million in the last year.
Although David and Victoria—who share kids Brooklyn Peltz-Beckham, 27, Romeo Beckham, 23, Cruz Beckham, 21, and Harper Beckham, 14—have earned the prettiest of pennies over the years, the Times noted that they are still No. 2 on the wealthiest sportspeople list, with former Formula One executive Bernie Ecclestone having a net worth of about $2.7 billion.
David and Victoria’s enormous wealth comes from their extremely diversified portfolio.
Since retiring in 2013, The 51-year-old has become an all-star soccer team franchiser since his retirement from the sport. In 2018, the athlete invested in the Inter Miami soccer club—he currently owns a 26 percent stake—and his earnings grew immensely once star player Lionel Messi signed with the team in 2023.
Meanwhile, Victoria continues to grow her fashion empire since she founded her eponymous label in 2008, with the brand’s earnings growing exponentially over the years. In October, Reuters estimated the brand could sell for around $700 million, if the Spice Girls alum opted to do so.
The Beckhams are the latest stars to reach the billionaire milestone in the last few years. With her record-breaking Eras Tour, Taylor Swift was officially named a billionaire in October 2023, going on to accrue another billion earlier this year, with Forbes estimating her total net worth at exactly $2 billion.

It’s worth noting that the “Karma” singer is the richest musician to earn her wealth primarily in the music industry itself.
Meanwhile, Selena Gomez has seen a massive increase in her fortune since founding Rare Beauty in 2019. While Forbes values the “Who Says” singer’s net worth at around $700 million, other finance experts like Bloomberg place her just above $1 billion.

Though Jami Gertz has amassed a collection of TV and film credits including Square Pegs, Sixteen Candles, Lost Boys and Twister, it's one investment she made with businessman husband Tony Ressler that has truly proved to be a slam dunk: Buying NBA team Atlanta Hawks in 2015.
While she notes, "Everyone thinks I married a rich guy," thanks to Ressler's more than $10 billion net worth, she told The Hollywood Reporter in 2018, "I made more money—way more money—than Tony when I met him.
