Dubai Fashion Week opened its Spring/Summer 2027 edition on Thursday 22 October with an evening of four runway shows, beginning with Yousef Aljasmi and closing with the Krésha Bajaj x Alok Lodha Jewels presentation. Organised by Dubai Design District (d3) in collaboration with Arab Fashion Council, the season runs until 26 October and has been curated to champion haute couture from the region’s favourite maisons alongside designs from upcoming labels and modistes, which made the first night a fitting introduction, moving from pearl-draped tailoring to nature-inspired gowns, equestrian shimmer and animal print power dressing.

Yousef Aljasmi set the evening in motion with a collection built around a pearl theme, where strands of pearls were strung into soft drapes that fell across sharp, structured silhouettes, so that the delicacy of the embellishment was balanced against the precision of the tailoring and gave the opening show a polished, couture-minded feel.

Second on the runway was Sara Pedram brought a more whimsical mood to the runway with a collection inspired by nature, in which botanical and insect-led patterns were worked into flowing gowns and dresses, creating a playful yet romantic atmosphere that shifted the evening from structure toward fantasy.

Pallavi Puri followed with equestrian touches that were softened by a sense of ethereal shimmer, with teardrop-shaped crystals catching the runway lights as the designs moved, lending the sporting references a more luxurious and dreamlike finish.

The night closed with Krésha Bajaj and her jewellery collaboration with Alok Lodha Jewels, which took a bolder direction through animal print patterns and tailored blazers and suits designed for the modern woman, bringing a confident and polished energy to the final show and pairing statement jewellery with clothes made for everyday power.

With the opening evening complete, Dubai Fashion Week continues across the coming days with further runway presentations, as well as the dedicated Buyers Programme that runs alongside the shows to connect couturiers with buyers and industry stakeholders through personalised meetings and consultations, further cementing the city’s growing position as a global fashion hub.
