Def Leppard showed just why they’re rock legends, appearing on America’s Got Talent to perform their signature hit, “Pour Some Sugar On Me”. The rendition was literally and figuratively explosive, as the British rockers performed the tune as flames ignited behind them. The lyrics were also displayed in the background, but proved to be somewhat unnecessary as the audience excitedly sung and danced along to every word.

Following the performance, host Terry Crews asked lead singer Joe Elliot what advice he would give to the show’s contestants. His response was simple: “Live your dream.” “Pour Some Sugar On Me” is one of two singles from the band’s 1987 album Hysteria. It peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and entered the top 20 in their native UK.

Def Leppard’s appearance on America’s Got Talent (which is currently in the quarterfinals of its 20th season) comes in the midst of the band’s North American summer tour. Featuring guest acts Bret Michaels, The Struts, and Extreme, it kicked off on May 15 in San Juan, Puerto Rico and will wrap on August 31 in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

The band recently shared episode seven of their “Behind The Tour” 2025 series. In the video, they venture through Bethel, Saratoga Springs and St. Johns. The members also visit the original site of Woodstock, share fun memories touring with the late Ozzy Osbourne during 1980’s Blizzard of Ozz Tour, and paid tribute to their friend with a cover Black Sabbath’s 1972 single “Changes.”

Last month, Def Leppard announced a Las Vegas residency at the famed Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The band will perform each Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from February 3 – February 28, 2026.
