Djimon Hounsou‘s ex-girlfriend Riza Marie Simpson, who he shares two children with, has been arrested for allegedly assaulting him.

The incident happened amid a dispute over her living situation, with Djimon reportedly trying to get her to vacate a residence he owns.

TMZ reports that Djimon claims Riza struck him in the face with a closed fist after he tried to kick her out of his Atlanta townhouse. Their children were reportedly upstairs at the time of the incident and while they didn’t see it happen, he claims they may have heard it.

Djimon went to police in December 2025 and an arrest warrant was issued last Friday, according to TMZ.

Riza was arrested for “simple assault and obstruction for allegedly providing false information when confronted by officers.”

Djimon also shares 16-year-old son Kenzo with ex Kimora Lee Simmons.

Last year, Djimon opened up about his struggles to remain a working actor in Hollywood.
