Driver 'Miraculously' Alive After Crashing His Car into a Truck. Police Share Horrifying Pictures to Prove a Point

Police in Georgia shared horrifying photos of a car accident to prove a point after they responded to a scary accident where a driver was “miraculously” still alive.

On Thursday (February 26), the Carrollton Police Department shared the images in a news release after responding to a crash during the morning traffic.

They explained an important lesson that other drivers needed to take from the images of the utterly destroyed car, which was crushed underneath a semitruck.

On Facebook, the police explained that the driver had been “distracted with his phone and ran underneath the 18-wheeler.”

“Miraculously, the driver wasn’t more seriously injured and we are SO grateful – because crashes like this often end much differently,” they wrote, noting that crashes like these are the reason for hands-free laws in Georgia.

Despite the severity of the crash and the dramatic photos, WSB-TV reported that the driver was only treated for “minor injuries” at Tanner Medical Center-Carrollton.

“And before the comments start… Yes, fam, we are still going after drug dealers, violent offenders, and every other serious crime in our community. Turns out we can do more than one thing at a time,” authorities wrote, adding, “But distracted driving? It’s not minor. It’s not harmless. And it absolutely puts lives at risk.”

DESCRIPTION

Police said that “a quick glance at a phone can be catastrophic.”

“This is why Georgia has a hands-free law. This is why citations happen. Not for revenue. Not for fun. For safety — yours and everyone else’s,” they said.

They concluded with a “simple ask,” urging drivers to make use of hands-free features on a phone.

“No notification is worth this,” they wrote. “Stay safe, Carrollton!”
