Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayDutton Ranch, the upcoming Yellowstone spin-off show, has got a major creative change to navigate ahead of the show’s premiere.
What is the latest Dutton Ranch change?
According to a new report from Puck, Chad Feehan, who served as showrunner for the show’s first season, will not be returning if the show gets renewed for a second season. While no Season 2 has been greenlit, Taylor Sheridan’s history with successful shows suggests it will be, in which case Feehan will have to be replaced.
The reason for Feehan’s departure, according to a report from Puck, is that the production studios behind the show were unhappy with Feehan’s handling of the show after it was done. No official issues were reported as of yet, but it seems like whatever happened was enough to cause Feehan to leave or be removed from the series.
Dutton Ranch is set to premiere on Paramount+ May 15, 2026, with the show also set to air on the Paramount Network at the same time. The show will debut with two episodes, then air weekly throughout the nine-episode first season.
“As Beth and Rip fight to build a future together – far from the ghosts of Yellowstone – they collide with brutal new realities and a ruthless rival ranch that will stop at nothing to protect its empire. In South Texas, blood runs deeper, forgiveness is fleeting, and the cost of survival might just be your soul,” reads the show’s official synopsis.
Alongside Reilly and Hauser, Dutton Ranch will also star Finn Little, Juan Pablo Raba, Jai Courtney, J.R. Villarreal, Marc Menchaca, Natalie Alyn Lind, and Ed Harris and Annette Bening. David C. Glasser, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Christina Alexandra Voros, Michael Friedman, Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser, and Keith Cox are attached to the show as executive producers.
