Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart proved size doesn’t matter when it comes to comedy chemistry, and now the film that brought them together is heading to a new streaming home. The beloved buddy romp that turned a high school reunion into a matter of national security will soon arrive on Hulu, just in time to celebrate a major milestone.

Central Intelligence to stream on Hulu this month

Hulu will add Central Intelligence to its streaming library on May 11, marking the film’s 10th anniversary. The 2016 buddy action comedy stars Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson as former high school classmates. Hulu’s official May 2026 schedule confirms the addition alongside other titles arriving throughout the month.

Rawson Marshall Thurber directed the film and co-wrote the screenplay with Ike Barinholtz and David Stassen. Hart plays Calvin Joyner, a forensic accountant dissatisfied with his career after being a star athlete. Johnson portrays Bob Stone, a formerly bullied student who transformed himself into a CIA agent.

The plot follows Hart’s Calvin Joyner as Johnson’s Stone recruits him to help stop a criminal from selling satellite codes. Amy Ryan plays CIA Agent Pamela Harris, who suspects that Stone is a dangerous rogue agent. Aaron Paul co-stars as Phil Stanton, Stone’s former partner believed dead after an apparent killing.

New Line Cinema produced the film with RatPac Entertainment, Perfect World Pictures, and Bluegrass Films backing production. Warner Bros. Pictures handled domestic distribution while Universal Pictures managed international release.

Central Intelligence opened on June 17, 2016, earning $35.5 million during its debut weekend. The film went on to gross $216.9 million worldwide against a reported production budget of $50 million.

Rotten Tomatoes shows the film holding a 71% approval rating based on 187 reviews. CinemaScore audiences gave Central Intelligence an average grade of A-minus on its scale.
