This Emirati Women’s Day, Emirates Woman partnered with InterContinental Residences Abu Dhabi to host an intimate luncheon celebrating some of the most inspiring women from across the UAE, gathering guests around this year’s national theme, “We Emerge Stronger and Better.”

The afternoon centred on connection and conversation, with Morin Oluwale taking to the floor as our guest speaker to address the room, her remarks setting the tone for a celebration that honoured the achievements and continuing influence of Emirati women across the country.

Running alongside the luncheon and unfolding within the same residence, MARSAH Presents ROOM [113] — Chapter 01: Material & Memory offered our guests an art activation exploring the relationship between material, memory and personal storytelling.

The installation is the first chapter from MARSAH, a creative platform founded by Emirati filmmaker Sarah Alhashimi and Shatha Masoud, developed in collaboration with textile artist Amirah Mohammed Alkhajaa and curator Hessa Alnuami.
Through collected fabrics, fragments and personal references, the activation gave guests an intimate window into Alkhajaa’s creative process, tracing how memory can be held and transmitted through material and touch, and allowing those seated at the luncheon to move between the two experiences over the course of the afternoon.

The day was brought to life with the support of Italian Dairy Products, one of our food suppliers, and Diamond Events, a luxury wedding and events house known for its work on unforgettable celebrations, both of whom contributed to shaping the luncheon’s dining experience and overall production.

Set design and production for the day was handled by Construction Studioz, bringing together the practical framework for both the luncheon and the installation within the residence.

Together, the luncheon and the MARSAH activation offered our readers and guests a layered tribute to Emirati Women’s Day, pairing a celebration of community and dialogue with a quieter, more reflective exploration of craft and memory, both grounded in the voices and creativity of Emirati women.
