Eric Dane was a proud girl dad.

The “Euphoria” actor died on Feb. 19, 2026, at age 53 after battling ALS, leaving behind two daughters that he shared with wife Rebecca Gayheart.

The couple welcomed their first daughter, Billie Beatrice Dane, in March 2010.

Their second daughter, Georgia Geraldine Dane, was born in December 2011.

Dane, who lost his father to suicide when he was a child, told People in 2020 about his daughters, “I never had a family, and now I do.”

“I know I’m a very lucky guy,” he added.

Dane and Gayheart split in 2018 after 13 years of marriage, but they called off their divorce in March 2025, one month before the “Grey’s Anatomy” alum went public with his ALS diagnosis.

Gayheart said she withdrew her divorce filing to teach her daughters to “show up for family.”

“We tell them, ‘We show up for people no matter what. He is our family. He is your father,’” Gayheart explained on the “Broad Ideas” podcast in November 2025.

During Dane’s ALS journey, Gayheart said that Billie and Georgia were “really suffering.”

“We have some professional therapists who are helping us,” the “Nip/Tuck” actress told People in September 2025, adding that her daughters were “taking it day by day.”

Dane, meanwhile, told Diane Sawyer in June 2025 that he felt his daughters were being “taken” from him due to his diagnosis.

“My father was taken from me when I was young,” he said, “and now there’s a very good chance that I’m going to be taken from my girls while they’re very young.”

When announcing Dane’s death, his family called Billie and Georgia “the center of his world.”

Billie was born on March 3, 2010.

Before Billie arrived, Dane spoke about his plans for his oldest daughter’s birth.

“I’ll be in the room,” he said on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in February 2010. “I’m going to stay close to my wife and make sure that she is all right.”

“I’m really excited. I’m also very interested,” he added.

Dane also said at the time that they had a name in mind for their first child, but “Rebecca wants to wait until she sees her before we give her the name.”

The “Charmed” actor later shared how they chose Billie’s name on Harry Connick Jr.’s talk show in 2016.

“[Billie’s] named after my father … Whether it was a boy or a girl, the firstborn was gonna be a Billie,” he explained.

In June 2024, Gayheart celebrated Billie graduating from middle school.

“It’s official, you’re now in high school!” she wrote on Instagram alongside photos of Billie getting her diploma. “It doesn’t seem possible yet I know you are more than ready for this next chapter.”

“I have watched you juggle school, ballet and life with tenacity , grace and humor,” the proud mom continued. “You’re as beautiful inside as you are on the outside . I’m beyond proud of you Billie and love you 4ever and always . I hope you can take a breath and enjoy summer sweetheart.”

Billie walked the red carpet with her parents on multiple occasions, including when she joined her mom for the Chrysalis Butterfly Ball in 2022 and her dad and sister for the “Bad Boys: Ride of Die” premiere in May 2024.

Georgia was born on Dec. 28, 2011.

“Rebecca and Eric welcomed Georgia Geraldine Dane on Wednesday, Dec. 28, just in time for the New Year,” the couple’s rep told People at the time.

“Both Mom and baby girl are happy and healthy, Billie is thrilled to be a big sister, and Dad is getting ready to live in a house full of ladies!” the statement added.

During her pregnancy with Georgia, Gayheart said she felt less “neurotic.”

“What’s made it different is that I’m very focused on Billie … so I’m not very focused on [the pregnancy],” she told People four months before Georgia was born.

Gayheart also acknowledged that having two kids would be “challenging” but insisted she was prepared for the task.

“Eventually it’s going to be great because they’re going to be very close in age and very close, hopefully,” she said.

Dane spoke about Georgia in a 2024 interview with Variety, sharing a question she asked him about “Grey’s Anatomy.”

“My 12-year-old, when she started watching it a couple of years ago looked at me and said, ‘Dad, where did your abs go?’ She was serious. She wasn’t making a joke,” he told the outlet.

Georgia was seen in public with her dad while he was wheelchair-bound during his ALS battle.

The pair and Gayheart enjoyed a family outing at West Hollywood hotspot Sushi Park in November 2025.
