Keep reading to find out more… “I am aware of efforts to bring an immediate expulsion vote against me and other members,” he said in a statement on social media. “Expelling anyone in Congress without due process, within days of an allegation being made, is wrong. But it’s also wrong for my constituents to have me distracted from my duties. Therefore, I plan to resign my seat in Congress.” “I will work with my staff in the coming days to ensure they are able, in my absence, to serve the needs of the good people of the 14th congressional district,” he added. If you didn’t know, Eric, a Democratic politician, has served as a US representative for the 15th district in California from 2013 to 2023, before serving the 14th district since 2023. Eric was recently accused by a former female staffer of sexually assaulting her on multiple occasions, and at least three other women. After speaking out in a video in regards to the allegations, where he called them “absolutely false,” Eric dropped out of the Governor’s race, in which he was running to take over after Gavin Newsom‘s term has come to an end.
