Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayAuthor by Amanda Davis on April 22, 2026 Updated on April 22, 2026
This painting was something I made last summer. I have quite a collection of saved project ideas and inspiration, and one of them was a field of round flowers. I had recently invested in a dehydrator, so I though, why not?

I had saved the container (crate, box, ?) that a neon sign came in and that ended up being my frame. And I sliced a bunch of limes that were on their last leg and popped them into the dehydrator. The crate was covered in a very sticky tape that i had to remove and the outer edges required quite a bit of wood glue to keep it together.
My Inspiration
I have seen this painting on Pinterest, Google, and a few other places. I believe prints are available for purchase around the web too. I saved it a few years ago… that crate and those limes finally inspired me to make a move.

First I dehydrated the limes…

Then I painted them in a variety of colors…

If you’re interested, these are the paint colors I used…

I painted the frame white and the inside with varying shades of blues and greens. I actually used my airbrush for this, something I am still getting the hang of.

I added some black and white speckling with a toothbrush, because I love the speckled look!

I also added black in the center of each lime and dabbed on some white around the edges for highlights.

After the paint on my canvas was dry, I used a fine marker to add stems, then glued all the limes on!

That’s it. Now it hangs on my wall and I can see it from my craft area. I love that. It’s so cheerful and colorful! What have you made lately?

If you have TikTok, I do post videos of current projects over there! I hope this has inspired you to create something this week. ☺️
