The stars of HBO’s Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon just united on the same stage!

Game of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke and House of the Dragon‘s Emma D’Arcy appeared on stage together at the 2026 Emmy Awards on Monday night (September 14) at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

Emilia played Daenerys Targaryen on all seasons of Game of Thrones and received four Emmy nominations for her work while Emma is currently playing Rhaenyra Targaryen on the prequel series House of the Dragon.

While Emma hasn’t received any Emmy nominations yet, they’ve been nominated at the Golden Globes twice so far!

At the Emmys, they presented the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie to Sally Field for her work in the movie Remarkably Bright Creatures.

Why House of the Dragon didn’t get any nominations this year

House of the Dragon earned plenty of nominations for its first two seasons, but it was not nominated for any awards at this year’s show.

It all comes down to a technicality.

House of the Dragon season three began airing in June 2026, after the eligibility period for the 2026 Emmy Awards. The third season of the show will be eligible at the 2027 show.
