Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by Adpathway▪️ U.S. publisher Asmadi Games was demoing two upcoming games, one by company founder Chris Cieslik called Mystic Curling Club that will be crowdfunded starting October 14, 2025 for release in 2026. Here's an overview of this 2-4 player game:
Bring the ice sport of curling to your tabletop, with dice! In the dexterity game Mystic Curling Club, instead of 44 pounds of granite down a 150 foot sheet of ice, you'll be sliding shiny 12-sided dice down a three-foot board trying to reach the center of the rings. As in the sport of curling, you can bump opposing stones, throw guard stones to defend your own, and mix strategy with skill to win.

But Mystic Curling Club isn't just dice curling; it's magical dice curling. Each player chooses a witch and her familiar to lead their curling team. On certain shots, you'll be able to change the playing field: adding, moving, or even removing stones!

But Mystic Curling Club isn't just dice curling; it's magical dice curling. Each player chooses a witch and her familiar to lead their curling team. On certain shots, you'll be able to change the playing field: adding, moving, or even removing stones!
Based on testing done at Gen Con 2025, Cieslik says that Asmadi has updated spell and scoring rules "to be cleaner and encourage more scoring". Now the best 5/6/7 stones at the end of a round score in a 2/3/4-player game, with a bonus point for the best overall stone. Each witch will have their own deck of cards, "with two used each end with effects that happen after specific stones".
Floofington!
▪️ The other Asmadi release is Chess Joker from Carl Chudyk, a two-player game that will naturally remind some of Knightmare Chess, but which takes a different approach to the concept of "chaos chess":
The rules are simple: Play a normal game of chess, but with one extra twist — after each turn, flip the top card of the deck face up next to you. Each card depicts a Joker move, such as "Move your King like a Knight" or "Warp your Queen to deliver check". On your next turn, you can take a normal chess move, or use your card. If you don't use the card, it's gone, and you draw a new one. If you do use it, you score it for points. Accumulate 800 Elo worth of completed cards, and you win immediately — or exploit your cards' powers to deliver checkmate and win traditionally.
Each of the 256 cards in the game is unique, and they are divided into two 128 card sets: basic and advanced. Learning players can start with the basic cards, and introduce the rest when they're ready.

Mock-up of cards and components
I'm not sure whether you can acquire just the cards to play with a chess set you already own, but I believe the Asmadi set will come with additional pieces to account for various card effects.
▪️ At Gen Con 2025, U.S. publisher Renegade Game Studios was showing off Dan Blanchett's Risk G.I. JOE: Special Missions, which was being Kickstarted at the time.
I already wrote about this title in mid-July 2025 in a crowdfunding round-up, but I didn't realize at the time that Renegade had initially offered this title as a pre-order item through its webstore before then turning to crowdfunding "due to major increases in international costs — specifically tariffs and surging container shipping rates caused by clogged ports". This tracks with speculation months ago that publishers would turn to crowdfunding to mitigate the cost of tariffs. By doing this, publishers can sell directly to buyers, better gauge production numbers, and charge for shipping at delivery to account for current costs.
▪️ Aside from that mash-up, Renegade revealed elements of G.I. Joe Heroscape, which it plans to release in the first half of 2026.
In case you want to read the character cards more clearly:
▪️ Renegade also teased two "regular" Heroscape releases: the Gathering Storm story arc and the REDACTED Thunder story arc, both due out in the first half of 2026.
Along with two new Heroscape terrain elements: Roads of Valhalla and The Ruins at Laur's Edge, both due out in October 2025.
▪️ For inspiration, Renegade featured a giant Heroscape display at Gen Con 2025, wisely not using it to run a "Guess the retail price for everything depicted" contest because that would probably be an uninspirational marketing pitch.
So...what's the retail price for all of this?
▪️ Along more traditional game lines, Renegade debuted Axis & Allies: Stalingrad, a Larry Harris, Jr. and Matt Hyra co-design that had already been shipped to those who pre-ordered on the company website. This title started appearing at retail outlets on August 21, and here's the pitch for this two player games that takes 3-5 hours to play:
In the summer of 1942, the German juggernaut could not be stopped, and both sides believed that Stalingrad would fall within mere weeks, but six months later, winter weather, a lack of supplies, and a failed relief effort saw the entire German 6th Army, or what was left of it, surrender.
In Axis & Allies: Stalingrad, you can take command of the German forces (plus some minor Axis powers) to see whether you can match their lightning thrust into the fateful city — or you can command the Soviet forces and put up a desperate defense as you await the winter and a massive counter-offensive that could turn the tide of the war. The famous city of Stalingrad gets its own game board featuring ferries, snipers, and notoriously close-quarters fighting. Buy time with blood, prepare for the winter, and keep your supply lines open!

▪️ Finally, Renegade had a two-player card game that seemed a tad out of place compared to everything else I've depicted above. That game, Naishi from designers Mathieu Bieri and Alex Fortineau, debuted in 2024 from French publisher Merle éditions, with Renegade expected to have the game out before the end of August 2025.
Naishi feels akin to Fantasy Realms, with each player trying to craft their holdings to score beaucoup points. Each player starts with a row of five mountain cards and a hand of three mountain cards and two other cards that cannot change their order. (Mountains are placeholders and will be replaced during play.) Five piles of cards lie in a "river" between the two rows of mountains, with the top card always revealed.
On a turn, you generally draft a top card from the river, then replace either the card in that same position in your row or hand with the selected card. Emissary tokens allow you to discard cards from the top of piles or switch the position of two cards in the river or your holdings. At game's end, you lay down your hand to create a second row, making a 2x5 grid, then score your cards.
▪️ On the eve of Gen Con 2025, Renegade announced that it had picked up tabletop game rights for Dungeon Crawler Carl, a science-fiction book series by Matt Dinniman that has had seven titles released to date and that had television adaptation rights sold in 2024:
The first project in development is a full-scale roleplaying game, allowing fans to immerse themselves in the brutal, hilarious, and over-the-top world of the Crawl. Players will step into the boxers of contestants battling for survival in an ever-shifting dungeon filled with deadly traps, absurd loot, and relentless entertainment.
Additional titles will also be developed, including board and deck-building games designed for both solo and co-operative play.

The first title is due out in 2026. Renegade had nothing on hand at Gen Con 2025 to accompany this announcement beyond president Scott Gaeta's excitement, which could not be captured on film in a meaningful way.
