Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by Adpathway2025 Golden Globes Host Nikki Glaser Reveals NSFW Reason She Won’t Make Eye Contact With Glen Powell
Nikki Glaser was clearly not afraid to give Hollywood a NSFW roasting.
As the comedian took the stage as the host of the 2025 Golden Globes on Jan. 5, she knew exactly how to get the crowd howling with laughter inside the International Ballroom at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Poking fun at several of the nominees—including Selena Gomez, Timothée Chalamet and Nicole Kidman—Nikki set the tone for the evening which featured several quips that also made the crowd gasp. (Click here for a look at some of your favorite stars hitting the red carpet before the big night.)
"Welcome to the 82nd Golden Globes, Ozempic's biggest night," Nikki said from the stage. "I gotta say, this feels like I finally made it. I'm in a room full of producers at the Beverly Hilton Hotel and this time all of my clothes are on. It was worth it."
But the 40-year-old didn't stop there.
"Wicked, Queer, Nightb--ch. These are not just words Ben Affleck yells after he orgasms," she continued. "These are some of the incredible movies nominated tonight."
And Nikki was not afraid to wade into some dicier territory with a joke about Sean "Diddy" Combs' latest legal troubles, joking that Challengers was "more sexually charged than Diddy's credit card."
"Oh no sorry, I'm upset, too," she said to the clearly shocked crowed. "The after party's not gonna be as good this year. But we have to move on."
Nikki also commented on the "Freak Offs" Diddy is accused of having—although he denies the allegations—adding, "I know, Stanley Tucci 'Freak Off' just doesn't have the same ring to it. No baby oil this year, just lots of olive oil," referring to his show Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy.

And while she had said before the show that she would avoid eye contact with Glen Powell, she went right in calling out the Anyone But You actor.
"Glen Powell, what a year you've had," she gushed. "Oh my god, Glen. You were in everything. Twisters, Hit Man, my head when I'm having sex with my boyfriend. Thank you so much for the assist. I'll see you tonight."
And stars in the room definitely seemed to be enjoying Nikki's take on hosting, a stark contrast to the controversial monologue comedian Jo Koy delivered at the 2024 Golden Globes.
But as Nikki told Live From E!: Golden Globes' Zuri Hall on the red carpet, she was testing out her monologue as much as she could before the big night.
"We've run through this thing 93 this will be my 94th time telling some version of this," she revealed. "It's still changing, even from the last time I told it, 'til now. So we're constantly making edits, trying to top jokes, trying to just get strike the right note and tone for the evening."

And all that practice means that she can actually have more fun with her monologue.
"I really think I might go a little like wild, because I'm so cozy with it," she added, "and now I'm suddenly going to see the people and talk Glen Powell right here, Timothée Chalamet. It's going to set off something new in my head for sure."
But before her big night, Nikki got a bit of advice from previous Golden Globes hosts Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
"Those three have really made the Golden Globes this iconic comedic performance," Nikki said on CBS Mornings last month. "I reached out to Ricky, he called me right away to give me advice."
The five-time Golden Globes host told her, "‘Be yourself. You're not one of them. Don't try to walk out there acting like you're an A-lister. Just because you're invited–you wouldn't be if you weren't the host.'"
Tiny and Amy—who have hosted four times—told Nikki to not be intimidated by how "super noisy" the ballroom is, adding, "They're all talking. Don't try to quiet them down because the audience at home can't hear them."
