Less than one year after Cass Lacelle shared her ovarian cancer diagnosis, the Grand Cayman star’s loved ones confirmed she died Feb. 11 at the age of 34.

Celebrity Deaths: 2025's Fallen Stars

The Freeform family is mourning one of their own.

Cass Lacelle, who starred on the network’s reality series Grand Cayman: Secrets in Paradise, has died less than one year after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer, her loved ones confirmed. She was 34.

"It is with profound sadness that we share the news that our beloved Cass has passed after her short but incredibly courageous battle with cancer,” they wrote in a Feb. 16 Instagram statement. “Cass leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured.”

“She is the definition of memorable; in just 34 years, she made an extraordinary impact on everyone who crossed her path,” the statement continued. “She taught us that life is precious, meant to be embraced wholeheartedly and never wasted. Boredom was her biggest enemy. Cass had a rare gift for making people feel truly alive and bringing everyone together, she was the glue.”

And the reality TV star—who had shared regular health updates on social media since announcing her diagnosis in May 2025—wished to keep her fans in the know even after her death.

“Her ability to be there in a meaningful way for so many people was a super power and we hope people find comfort in memories shared with her,” they wrote. “Because she has touched so many people far and wide, her wish was for one final post to be shared.”

“Our dearest Cass, you have been very brave, for so very long,” they added. “You did not yield. Forever, our Fireheart 27/09/1991 - 11/02/2026.”

In the comments, Cass’ Grand Cayman castmates paid their respects.

“You were a light in the world my friend and my heart breaks everytime you cross my mind,” Chelsea Flynn commented while Aaron Bernardino wrote alongside a red heart and dove emoji, “Rest in peace cass. Forever in our [hearts].”

Julian Foster added with a white heart emoji, “Forever with us in spirit, pushing us to be our best selves. Love you to the moon and back beautiful friend.”

Cass’ death comes less than two months after sharing a heartbreaking update that her cancer had returned despite finishing chemotherapy treatments.

“My cancer is back and this time around is aggressive; it has metastasized to my liver, stomach, abdominal lining, and omentum,” she wrote in a Jan. 4 Instagram post, adding that “there hasn’t been a pain free day for me since mid November.”

Noting that she’d been in the hospital since early December, Cass also shared that she would “be here for the foreseeable future” while undergoing more cancer treatments. But through it all, she appreciated her fans’ support.

“I wanted to take a moment to let everyone know I see and feel all of your messages, prayers, and well wishes daily,” the caption continued. “Due to the side effects of chemo and pain management I am often unable to respond but please know how much I appreciate your love.”

She also showed love to those who stuck by her side throughout her health battle.

“I also need to give a big shoutout to my army of people who have dropped everything to either physically be here day in day out, or support me behind the scenes in the most selfless ways,” she wrote. “I have no words but my gratitude is endless.”
