Is Citadel canceled or renewed for a Season 3? The spy action series is all set to return with its second installment. As such, there’s growing curiosity about the future of the Amazon Prime Video show.

Here’s the latest update on a potential third season of Citadel.

Has Prime Video canceled Citadel or renewed it for Season 3?

At the time of writing, Prime Video has neither canceled Citadel nor renewed it for Season 3.

Season 2 comes out May 6, 2026, comprising seven episodes. Its debut season notably had just six episodes. While many modern TV shows split their seasons into separate parts to build anticipation mid-season, Prime Video has opted against this trend for Citadel. Accordingly, if the show’s narrative continues, it will only do so in a potential third installment.

Several factors contribute to whether shows get renewed for future installments or canceled. These typically include viewership, critical reception, and demand for another chapter. It remains to be seen how Citadel’s latest season performs in the aforementioned metrics.

The show’s lead actress, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, addressed its future ahead of Season 2’s release. She told Variety, “We have Season 2, for sure, but the rest? I have no idea.” She further added, “I don’t ask. I go to work, do my job, and I leave.”

Rumors were claiming the second season was dealing with reshoots. However, the actress denied the reports in her interview with The Playlist. “No, I don’t think there were major changes. I think we picked up where we left off in Season 1,” she said.

The series, created by Josh Appelbaum, Bryan Oh, and David Weil, stars the Indian star opposite Richard Madden. The supporting cast includes Stanley Tucci, Lesley Manville, and Ashleigh Cummings. It received a mixed critical reception, earning a 51% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
