After Season 1 concluded, Diego Ávalos, Vice President of Spain, Portugal & Nordics at Netflix, revealed that Turn of the Tide Season 2 and 3 were being filmed back-to-back. He stressed how local series are equally important as those made to appeal to an international audience. Reflecting on this Portuguese drama, he added, “Super successful in Portugal, which is what we focus on, and we shoot between Lisbon and Azores because it’s really an Azores story.”

Season 3 centers on Eduardo, who spends three years in prison and then returns to Rabo de Peixe. He witnessed that the island changed with economic and political forces threatening families living there. He reunites with his three friends and decides to start a group called “Night Justice.” The group’s goal is to protect the community, give their voices power, and to stand against injustice. However, when the movement grows, things get extremely dangerous, and the line between right and wrong begins to blur.
