HealtheConnections, a Syracuse, N.Y.-based health information exchange, has been awarded a contract to provide statewide encounter alerts on behalf of the Statewide Health Information Network for New York (SHIN-NY). 

HealtheConnections said it is launching a new alerting solution designed to improve care coordination and health outcomes for millions of New Yorkers. The HIE said new statewide alerting with improved data quality exemplifies the SHIN-NY’s commitment to advancing interoperability and strengthening care delivery statewide.

HealtheConnections is working with interoperability vendor PointClickCare to produce this service offering for the SHIN-NY. Through this partnership, providers, managed care organizations (MCOs), accountable care organizations (ACOs), and risk-bearing entities will receive near real-time notifications to evaluate care needs, coordinate follow-up, and close care gaps. Healthcare teams will be able to filter and analyze alerts across their patient panels to identify trends and improve workflows, supporting more proactive care and quality measures achievement. Additionally, this solution is built with rigorous security and privacy safeguards that meet SHIN-NY standards for regulatory compliance and maintain trust among patients, providers, and payers.

SHIN-NY statewide encounter alerts will be available to participants in fall 2025.
