Philip Werner October 20, 2025 Blog
If you’re a regular reader, you know that I published a book this year titled Hiking over 60: A Modern Guide to Hiking Gear and Techniques for Active Adults. I’m currently on a book tour, giving talks about the book and its contents this autumn in libraries and book stores across New Hampshire and Vermont.
If you can’t get a chance to come see me in person, here’s a video of a talk I gave recently at the town library in Middlebury, Vermont, that was videotaped and published on YouTube by Middlebury Community Television. My talks are geared towards hikers across the entire range of expertise, from complete beginners to seasoned hikers who are just getting back on the trail after a hiatus or who want to modernize their approach or hiking gear.
The next two talks I’m giving are in New Hampshire, in North Conway and in Lincoln, on October 21 and October 28. Here are the details:
- October 21: North Conway, NH: The Pope Memorial Library, 6:00-7:30 PM
- October 28: Lincoln, NH: Lincoln Public Library (co-sponsored by the Mountain Wanderer Bookstore), 6:00-7:30 PM.
If you want to purchase a copy of my book Hiking Over 60, it’s available at https://www.philipwerner.com in paperback sold directly from me, or on Amazon and Barnes and Noble, or as an ebook for Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, and many other ebook devices. There’s even an audiobook version.
Hiking Over 60 also makes a great holiday gift for your parents or friends if you want to help get them out hiking.
