Alex Honnold is back in the public eye thanks to his Netflix special Skyscraper Live, in which he’ll be free-soloing the Taipei 101 tower.

The 40-year-old climber shot to fame after he became the first person to ever free solo climb Yosemite’s 3,000 foot high El Capitan wall. It was considered to be the greatest fear in rock climbing history, as he did this without ropes or safety gear.

Now, Alex will be climbing the 11th-tallest building in the world, also without ropes or safety gear.

Alex‘s El Cap climb was the subject of the documentary Free Solo, which was released in 2018. The movie went on to win the Oscar and BAFTA for Best Documentary Feature.
