Brilliantly revamped footage of the late Dolores O’Riordan has become the basis for a new music video for Iain Cook’s remix of The Cranberries‘ “Ode To My Family.”

The Chvrches member’s synth-heavy take on the track appears on the new 30th anniversary deluxe reissue of the Cranberries’ No Need To Argue. Cook transformed the folksy jangle-pop sound of the original, infusing it with his signature array of keyboards and drum machines while maintaining O’Riordan’s majestic vocal melody.

The video for his remix presents a similar transformation. Black and white footage of O’Riordan and her bandmates from the shoot for director Samuel Bayer’s original “Ode To My Family” video has been repurposed and updated into 4K quality for the first time.

The discovery of the archival film used for “Ode To My Family,” as well as Bayer’s videos for “Zombie” and “Ridiculous Thoughts,” led to the recent social media series “The Cranberries Uncut,” which features unedited moments from the group’s music video shoots. The series has quickly become a favorite among Cranberries fans, inspiring heartfelt comments and thousands upon thousands of likes and shares.

No Need To Argue, the Cranberries’ 1994 sophomore album, found the band experimenting with darker, heavier sounds, as heard on the hit single “Zombie.” Yet as exemplified on “Ode To My Family,” the album’s opening track, the band was still just as capable of gentle, timeless beauty.
