Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by Adpathway
It looks like Sister Wives has really shifted to just semi-sisters. Years after Kody Brown‘s breakups from ex-wives Christine Brown, Meri Brown and Janelle Brown, he and his remaining (and only legal) wife, Robyn Brown, have left the show. TLC announced their departure from the reality TV show in September 2026.
Now that season 21 is here, fans are wondering whether Kody left Sister Wives permanently or if this is just a hiatus.
Here’s what we know about Kody and Robyn’s exit from the show.
Why Did Kody Brown Leave Sister Wives?
Kody and Robyn left the show after 16 years, and fan theories quickly circulated about why the legal spouses chose to quit the show.
In a since-deleted Instagram post, Kody wrote that “times have changed and so has our family and the nature of the show.” He went on to write that he and Robyn were “no longer interested in the narrative that is being shared.”
Is Kody Brown Leaving Sister Wives For Good?
Yes. TLC confirmed ahead of its season 21 premiere that Robyn and Kody are not returning to the reality TV show.
What Did Christine, Meri & Janelle Say About Kody’s Exit?
Fans watched footage of Kody’s past “apology tour” to his ex-wives during the season 21 premiere, which aired on October 4, 2026. Janelle delved into his behavior during a confessional, noting that Kody was “trying to redeem himself” after years of controversy.
“I feel like the apology tour was, in the end, something he was trying to redeem himself with, and I don’t think it was necessarily that sincere because there’s been no contact since,” Janelle explained to the cameras. “And he very publicly torpedoed my character afterwards, so I’m like, yeah, whatever.”
Janelle went on about the “parting gift” Kody had left her. She said her ex-husband “like he should make up this story that I had somehow tried to go behind Meri’s back,” referring to Kody’s claims that Janelle told him he could sell their family’s Coyote Pass property and pull the rug under her, Meri and Christina, but that she knew he would pay her.
“I’m like, what? Kody even publicly said he went to his lawyer and his lawyer said, ‘You could sell it, you don’t have to give them anything. Your name on the title is really what matters. It doesn’t really matter what the agreements were,'” Janelle continued in her confessional. “Meri believed him, or sort of believed him. It was not true.”
She added, “Months after the deal is closed, he starts talking about how I was doing this backdoor deal. I was like, ‘Where did that come from?’ If I had been scheming, you would not have known it … This accusation not only felt very personal, like a final F**k you while he was leaving or whatever, and it’d be one thing if he just said it, but everybody’s believing him.”
The narrative of a “backdoor deal” between Janelle and Kody ensued, which upset Meri. During her own confessional, Meri admitted that she felt there was “really no point in keeping the property” once “all the divorces happened over those couple of years.”
Where Did Kody & Robyn Brown Go After Leaving Sister Wives?
It’s unclear what exactly Kody and Robyn are doing now, but a fan claimed they saw the couple in Alaska in September 2026.
